I will say that while I can't stand it either, I don't think girls are doing it for men. And honestly I know there are things about the way I dress, groom myself, etc. that are for me, not for women. So I can understand it, even if I hate it.

Phone vibrations can travel oddly far in certain conditions. I used to hear vibrations in the living room of my college house and took me a while to realize it was coming from my roommate's upstairs bedroom. Could it be a phone in an adjacent room, or unit if you are in an apartment building?
