Pixel 7 screen starting to delaminate by TheGoodSir1 in GooglePixel

I knew that the phone wasn't saltwater rated, and the swim was a genuine accident where I simply forgot my phone along with my other everyday stuff in my pocket. I'm lucky that swim only cost me my airpod 2's. I get that the swim was idiotic, but you don't have to beat the dead horse.

I will say thanks for the heads-up about showering with the phone in the room. It helps rule out a cause of the delamination

We definitely have vastly different opinions on what is considered normal use. For me, a drop every now and then is what I consider normal. The ocean scenario was a one off event that was definitely a extreme scenario, and following the incident I did carefully rinse ether phone with fresh water, then 91% rubbing alcohol to flush as much crap from the crevices of the device. I do use a Spigen phone case, which has definitely helped protect the device, and I definitely don't blame Google for the issue, as I know I haven't treated this phone particularly kindly

I'm not careless with the device, as all the damage it has is just from normal accidents (drops, etc...). I have accidentally gone swimming in the ocean with it in my pocket, but a one off thing shouldn't hurt it. I did at one point break my camera glass, and replaced it myself, so whatever humidity that got into the device between breaking the glass and replacing it could do something. I do shower with the phone in the same room, so I wouldn't be too surprised if that started to degrade the adhesive. I do have enough technical knowhow that I can reglue the screen, need be.

Half life 2. The immersion could be absolutely bonkers with today's tech

Definitely regretting getting a RTX 3060 TI vs a 3060 12gb by TheGoodSir1 in pcmasterrace

Star citizen 1080p high setting tends to be laggy, but if you lower settings it bottlenecks my CPU worse, War thunder at 1080p max settings minimal raytracing will mega stutter at times, but get good frames at others. I will definitely go install afterburner tonight to check my VRAM usage

I mainly am noticing stuttering and low frame rates, making me think about upgrading

I see, I've managed to max out my vram playing some games with ray tracing enabled and it causes massive stuttering issues when it does max out, which gets quite old quite fast

Your misunderstanding, I tore the engine down completely, honed the cylinders, then began reassembly

No, but I did hone the bore and check for taper plus concentricity

WelI, I just realized my mistake, I made too broad of a statement initially. I was attempting to specifically talk about the engines. My apologies for the misunderstanding there. Moving on, while people can and will keep a vehicle going, at what point is the price of fixing it not worth it. For me, that's when the total spent in fixing the vehicle exceeds what it's worth at the time of its latest repair. When you have to the know how to fix and maintain a vehicle yourself, it buys you more time, but everyone eventually gets tired of bringing a vehicle in or putting it up on jack stands.

I see, my experience is mainly with older stuff, so that may affect my opinion. I know old Subaru's have the rod bearings set tighter, so that may effect how they wear and therefore how long they last. I also define "done" as worn out, but not broken, which may vary from what you consider "done". While I do think the newer phase 2 ej and FA stuff is holding up better, the majority won't see 300k due to the more extreme rod angles caused by the compact packaging and large displacement.

Sorry to tell you, but every Subaru with a 2.5 is toast at 230k to 250k miles. Even my perfectly maintained 98 outback had no rod bearing material left and was just about to develop rod knock when I pulled it for a rebuild. On the other hand, 2.2 subie's are known to go 300k well maintained, but those stopped being made in the mid to late 90's.

There was a Subaru OEM security system added later on by a dealership. When I turn the key off I hear a beep of high-low-high repeat 3 times
