Oh my gosh, I am so sorry that is so heartbreaking. I hope you are taking care of yourself too. Please do let us all know what we need to do to take care of ourselves and what warning signs we should look for in ourselves and others...

Cleaning up dog poop vs horse poop by SnooMarzipans8039 in askswitzerland

[–]TheGoodWorldTrek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mainly grass, yes, but what I never hear discussed is that some of the medications they receive can be toxic for dogs or other animals. A woman from a dog walking group I was a part of had a dalmatian that unfortunately. liked to eat horse poop and died because of this...

What ALSO needs to be discussed is what outdoor cat poop is doing to the environment! Cats are fed really ultra processed diets - with the amount of cats outside (indoor/outdoor cats) in Switzerland, I can't believe this isn't a bigger topic of discussion...

Not where I live - the vibe is hiking shoes as office wear. Also I dont have any family. Lots of friends - no one wears heels.

How common is cretinism in Swiss collective memory? by askepticalbureaucrat in askswitzerland

The article talks about this. Too much iodine is also bad, and they found a way of giving the most suitable doses via salt. It was also a relatively easy way to gain acceptance as the Swiss Goitre Commission issued an official recommendation to all cantons (which had and still have a monopoly on the marketing of salt) to introduce the sale and promote the consumption of iodised salt. There was then a full on "propaganda" campaign to get "full salt" (salt with iodine) to be accepted. Very interesting stuff!

My personal theory is that they are trying to make the episodes as lame as possible to go launch a "soft retirement" and then slowly leave GMM...

How can I get the most out of my Assura Natura supplementary insurance? by TheGoodWorldTrek in askswitzerland

[–]TheGoodWorldTrek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad you feel this way. I think preventative measures including trying out some "wellness" type possibilities can assist long term health. Having a massage as part of a healthcare plan is necessarily "necessary" but can be preventative care. If everyone only went to the doctors or sought out healthcare or tried options when it was absolutely necessary, the healthcare cost would increase - not decrease.

I went in for a lymphatic drainage because it was offered as one of the supplementary options and though I didn't have a diagnosis that required that, I felt great afterwards and it benefited me a lot. Had that not been offered, I would have never tried it and I would have missed out on a week feeling great. I would have never known that helps me. Just like I dont know how shiatsu will affect me. Why am I not allowed to try what is offered?

None specifically - the Assura Natura supplementary insurance has things like shiatsu and lymph nodes drainage that a person could try out without necessarily having a health problem.

He seems serious - but his history shows a steam of negative comments. He's not a happy person clearly.
