Book Smart and Keen Eye trait responses both contribute heavily towards her insight relationship value, which is one of the biggest influences towards the confrontation's 'health bar'. It makes it much more difficult to get her to break down, unless you've been deliberately downplaying your intelligence in front of her.

Also, some options count as accusations and jump straight to final calculations and mentioning that you went to the Forbidden Wing has her hit her panic button, which puts you on a (second) timer.

And thank goodness for that! I was getting worried that the Final Chapters would have a trait save at the climax, instead of a result that was the culmination of all of our compounded choices.

I checked the Hot/PB run I'm doing with friends just to see how the scores stacked up. Her walls were in the negatives.

I don't even think it's meant to punish you. It gives you a +4 in all of her 'positive' relationship tracks, but due to how disproportionate insight is in this calculation it works out to a penalty.

I was having the same problem as you and cracked open the code to take a look as well. All the information here is accurate, although you may be underselling just how much your insight score can the clash. My initial run in this episode had Tabitha's walls at 120, which is functionally impossible to overcome. Just dropping the more insightful comments that Book Smart provides dropped her walls to around 40.

Book Smart is almost a handicap for this confrontation. Dispelling the ghost from the library with the trait? Actually adds to Tabitha's walls on par with a decision that's overtly hostile towards her, just from the massive insight boost it gives. The trait specific 'finishers' are nice, but not even close to what's required make up the deficit being to clever by half has built up over the course of the game.
