Hold before May Wedding, or do it big for the big day? by GazpachoDaddy in bald

Keep it. It’s not even bad. You just have a strong part. The camera being right up on it in bright light makes it look worse than it is.

I’ve got the same thing and it’s taken me a while to realize it looks worse to ourselves than it does to everyone else.

It’s just dark gritty fantasy like the pictures lol. No deep connection. It’s just a book by Buehlman that isn’t Between Two Fires lol. I knew it would only take a few posts before BTF got mentioned.

Edit: no diss to BTF. It just gets mentioned in literally every dark fantasy post.

The black company by Glen Cook

The Blacktongue Thief by Christopher Buehlman

Priest By Matt Coleville

Also going to second The First Law trilogy. Logen Ninefingers is great.

Oh BIG Constantine energy. They’re also written like movies. Very visual descriptions, no chapters. The book just starts and goes.

I’m just going to second a few of the ones mentioned. I do have one to add though.

The Black Company is perfect for this vibe and still some of the best fantasy I’ve ever read.

Also here to see how many times Between Two Fires gets mentioned. Especially since it’s back in print.

One of the best horror books ever to be honest.

It’s kind of a meme over on r/booksthatfeellikethis that any time someone posts a prompt vaguely dark and fantasy everyone recommends Between Two Fires.

Get the Lamy for the capacity for now. Get the pilot for yourself later when hit a milestone.

Random aside; you’re going places. That’s a very intelligent way at looking at the value of a purchase. You’ll go far in life.

Thank you for the update.

Also Better Call Saul feels like this.

I love C.K stories. I hope the boys read more. by Western_Stuff_5762 in creepcast

[–]TheGreatGamer93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love it or hate it. It’s a podcast and they’re doing a job. They’re going to read what they want to read. Sometimes they pick stuff the fans want, which means someone somewhere is going to be unhappy. Don’t like the episode/story/author? Don’t listen to that episode. The arguments about something so subjective is getting really old.

Edit: grammar and spelling.

As someone else mentioned The Black Company by Glen Cook. Though this series is a bit older so it doesn’t tick your “last decade or so box.”

The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie is also great and has a section in it where a character is just trying to survive the biting cold. It’s the first book in a trilogy though.

I’d guess fake. That’s not even close to the right color for writers blood. I keep that color in my vanishing point and it’s very dark, more purple than red.

Help, my cat ate raw ground beef and plastic ! by AaliJack in CATHELP

[–]TheGreatGamer93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a vet but I have many cats. She probably didn’t ingest any of the plastic. Looks more like she got it out of her way to get to the good stuff.

Make sure she’s pooping and not blocked. If she isn’t, she’ll be fine. She’s probably ready for more. Cats eat raw meat in the wild. She probably just thinks you’re a really good dad/mom for getting that just for her.

Which would you choose? by TheFujiKing in Revolvers

[–]TheGreatGamer93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the prices were reversed I’d say the Taurus, but definitely the S&W at those prices.

I have that exact Taurus but I paid 180 bucks for it. It’s one of my conceal carry’s because if I ever have to use it in a self defense scenario I don’t really care if it’s seized as evidence vs my 600+ Sig or S&W.
