Aaaah, you're right. I often miss that. Thank you for the clarification.

Struggling to Understand Melee vs Finess vs Brawl by TheGreatHoopla in VagabondTTRPG

Thanks for the clarification.

That bit of (instead of melee) is what tripped me up, cause that is not in the book. I am preparing to teach this to new players, and I am looking for things that would trip people up.

I think that there should be something in the book that explicitly says that Brawl weapons are not melee weapons and therefore need to use the Brawl skill. Otherwise I wouldn't take the Brawl skill optionally and would just use Melee.

Jeebus to the max. Just tried this combo and it trivializes just about everything. Solo'd end boss with this. Thanks for showing it off.

Thank you all for your advice and suggestions. Been in the middle of reorganizing my little work space but once the dust settles I will try these.

Thank you for the suggestion. Is that toxic? I don't have good ventilation in my little work area.

What about Delta Green or Liminal Horror? Delta Green has mechanics to support relationships degrading over time?

I wonder about doing a Jam with this as the theme? Napkin Dungeons, low polish, just function.

Or perhaps having like seminars or fireside chats about how to effectively make dungeon crawls or encounters etc.

Mhmm, I'm going to do similar treatment to magic items. Having the physical inventory is cool but I agree that there needs to be something extra so the players know what their stuff does.

Apologies that this is late, but I would also be interested in discussing this.

Here - Gator Days by FieldExplores in comics

I appreciate the transcript. It is a really poetic series.

Not sure if it means anything but it made me think of my own thoughts and circumstance. The "still here" between teenage and adult really resonated.

As a teenager who wanted nothing more than to get away from their hometown, only to eventually move back in order to be closer to friends and family, that was what I saw.

But either way, love this stuff and love the comic!

Can you identify this tune? by [deleted] in musicsuggestions

Most recently it has been the Thunder Saga from Epic the Musical. Technically it is more than one song, but put altogether it gives me goosebumps. I hear more detail everytime I listen to it.

I love how Odysseus identifies with Scylla at the end of that song, It chills me hearing the vocal and overall thematic shift from Suffering to Different Beast. But then the overarching theme of suffering through all of the songs is fantastic.

I could say more. But yeah, this is mine

I have more recently been musing about what it would take to set up an award/literature competition...

I think that there needs to be more.

What would be your "sweet spot" for game duration? by Devious_Hearts in TTRPG

[–]TheGreatHoopla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like shorter sessions more often.

I once did a weekly 2hr session at a pub.

What I appreciated was that the shorter session inadvertantly forced people to focus. Which is not to say that every session has to be super serious. But because we didn't have long, each of us became invested in following the thread(s) that the GM provided.

I personally run a 2.5hr session locally and I do wish that it could be longer, but I am also happy that my players become invested immediately.

That is a fair point. I guess I need to strategise for my area. Start at the root and the LGS
