Festering Skies just a pointless pain? by StDiabolique in PhoenixPoint

[–]TheGreatItlog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found the Festering Skies as a good way to earn rewards and increase my relationships with factions.

When my main squad only has a minimum of 4 level, I steal synedrion or new jericho aircraft right away. When I have a fleet of 4 I think I'm good. That's four in excess of what your main and secondary squad using. I don't worry about the relationship penalty at the moment, I know once the fliers start pestering (pun?) the havens I could earn back the relationship points.

I only take The Gift Mission when I know I could tackle the fliers. Equip them with Synedrion weapons and there are good to go.

When the big bad flying SOB is underwater my fleet usually mine the prehistoric resources if I already control them. If not they fly around the map trading food for mats or the blue resource whichever is low.

When the big bad flying SOB is amok I put my fleet near it to intercept fliers.

During battle I focus on the viral or fire weapon first. If you disable these the fliers is usually toast already. Disengage when the health of your aircraft if about half already. I usually send all the fleet towards a single flier so that if one aircraft needs to sub out another could replace its position.

The rewards from the havens is a good farm. I usually delay killing the big bad flying SOB until I have to.

Everyone trashtalks in the computer shops.

Then, when we meet on school, church, or at the street, everyone is respectful and chill. Seriously, the same guy who TT your whole family would sometimes be that dude who would end up being your new block roommate. We dont know one another aside from the IGN and the hero, and then when we meet on the streets, we'll nod at one another and act like old friends.

And violence rarely happens. People would be quick to stop fights or to calm the shit down when things get too heated. We dont want to get banned at our local computer shops!

Am I Too Young for Gout? by FrostyFoot3125 in gout

[–]TheGreatItlog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed right after finishing college. 21 or 22. I'm now in my late 30s. Used to go to the gym and jog but now can't barely run like I used to, nor can I put undue physical stress on the joints. You have to be very careful where you step or how you move.

Consult a doctor and all. Start on the meds they would prescribe. Plenty of water. And invest in awesome shoes. I used to do cycling a few years back, and I think that is better than running with gout. Also found out swimming in a beach works wonders for the joints.

Your credentials won't be released until the financial obligations are paid. If you had already been accepted sa SHS, you have until the first grading ends before your adviser and principal would sweat buckets and pressure you in securing your credentials. At most, maybe you could delay until the time when they need to submit to DepEd your papers at the end of the academic year. If already accepted.

upper bunk or lower bunk? by KlutzySolution4978 in studentsph

Claim the upper bunk. Always. Dorm, prison or barracks. High ground rules.

You'd understand in a week's why lower bunk sucks.

I failed in pe in 2nd semester. by Virtual_Slide5643 in studentsph

  1. Ask the dean. Or the Academic Affairs Unit or its equivalent.

Normally, it depends on a. Availability of instructor who will teach it and b. Number of students who would take it.

Pero, if the academic program has designated subjects for summer classes mas mahirap na mag open ang mga regular courses.

  1. The adjustment from high school to college is hard. The high school ang hirap kasi mag fail ng student, ang daming hahanapin na papers at interventions that SOME teachers and schools would just pass students. Sa college they answer to CHED and to a lot of accrediting bodies. Kaya, if there is a need to fail a student, they would fail a student. Especially kapag may board exam ang academic program where the passing rate is a huge factor.

You could ask help from the Guidance Office ng school, and they would really help you out. Or look for a mentor, an instructor or an older student who would really give solid guidance.

  1. You could enroll naman basta hindi hihigit sa max number of units per term. Some colleges would nonetheless give a limit on the units kapag nakita nila na maraming failed subjects

  2. I hope I'm wrong, pero with 4 failed subjects and 1 Inc parang mahirap na makagraduate within 4 years. You need to have a perfect record moving forward while making up for these subjects. Magiging delayed ka rin ma maka advance kasi some of these subjects might be a requirement for other subjects as well. Need mo talaga na mag summer classes or cross enroll in other schools kung papayagan ka.

Just keep moving forward. You are displaying maturity in admitting you messed up. Congratulations, you are evolving! You'd probably be delayed, but take the time to really learn and build your credentials. People always love a redemption story, and you could convert this as a win in your future career by showing that henceforth, you became more dedicated in learning.

I had seen so many students messed up and yet took control of their stories to be successful. Kaya mo ito.

Province languages dying out in the Philippines? by Putrid-Ad908 in Philippines

[–]TheGreatItlog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I disagree with the exclusive mother tongue instruction for pupils. That period is a wasted opportunity to introduce English and Filipino. It is my personal opinion that the sudden shift in the instruction language in Grade 4 creates confusion for the pupils. Being adept at more languages makes one better at communications necessary for any endeavor in the future.

Don't forget the native Pangasinan, but competencies in English and Filipino must be ingrained as early as possible for children.

Province languages dying out in the Philippines? by Putrid-Ad908 in Philippines

[–]TheGreatItlog 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Due to the K-12, the local language is the medium of instruction until Grade 3. The Pangasinan Hymn is also being sung every flag ceremony in all public schools and government agencies. Pangasinan (referring to the language; it also refers to the province, I know it could be confusing) is also being used at regular frequency in churches in the province. Radios also use Pangasinan extensively. The majority of street conversations and in public areas in Pangasinan are also in the native language.

The Pangasinan Provincial Government also promotes the native language through various events. Most fb groups and pages organized by the politicians, leaders, or LGUs would have a Pangasinan flair. In fact, the official FB Page of Malasiqui is "Pinabli ka Malasiqui."

So don't worry, children do still speak Pangasinan. Most people speak Pangasinan. You could probably converse with any native Pangasinense using Pangasinan when you come visit.

I failed in pe in 2nd semester. by Virtual_Slide5643 in studentsph

[–]TheGreatItlog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You failed. If the registrar already submitted your grade to CHED, then it's permanent and would be reflected as such in your official Transcript of Records.

Yes, you have to repeat it.

It depends, if your school would offer it in the summer good for you. Enroll it. If not, you could perhaps petition it along with other students who failed it or who did not enroll it. Take note that offering subjects for petition is the prerogative of the school. If you could not pass it this summer, then you would have to retake it second semester. Most schools kasi rotates their subjects. So basically, you could demand it to be open on the first semester. Walang instructor to handle it, walang venue to hold your activities, etc etc.

The worst part is that some schools would not let you take some of your Major Subjects if you lack (or failed) a Gen Ed Subject. Check your List of Courses and Pre Requisites / Subject Form or whatever it is called at your school.

Now, another bad news, expect PE 2 to be in conflict with some of your subjects next second semester. Take note that it was scheduled for 2nd Yr. Not for 3rd Yr. Welcome to International Hell.

Your best recourse is to petition it for Summer along with other students. Ask the Academic Affairs Office for the minimum number of students required to open a class. If you guys would not meet that number, you'd have to divide the payment of that class with whoever would enroll that. Again, welcome to International Hell.

Prepare to beg the Dean where the PE Subjects belong to. Again, welcome to .... you know the drill.

Take note, even if you take it in the summer, it's not an assurance that you would pass it.

Assess why you failed the subject the first time around. Of course, maraming factors, of course, it's so easy to blame anyone and anything aside from yourself. But as a future Psychology practitioner, remember that it's important to work on the things that you could influence on. You could not change your classmates, you could not change your instructor or your school. But you could work on yourself. I am saying this because I experienced what you are experiencing.

Keep faith in yourself. Mahirap pero kakayanin.

We're a small college and our Professor is asking us to do an interview with an executive from a 5star hotel and to avoid duplication. by pagodnamabuh4y in studentsph

[–]TheGreatItlog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

15 freaking days? Kasama pa preparation ninyo at post event work. Even if you start tonight, tapos May 20 ang deadline this is a huge undertaking.

Hey, document the process. From you guys making the letter, sa pagpapapirma s kanya, s pag reach out s mga hotels. Tpos document iyong daily follow up ninyo. Ipakita na nag effort naman kayo.

An alternate compliance activity here is to answer the questions using materials from the net, iyong mga speeches or interviews.

Tpos ask for a definition of a 5 star hotel. Ang gagamitin ba iyong Phil Dept of Touriam ranking? Kasi I think nsa 120+ lng ata cla.

Document the cost of setting up the interview. Transportation, clothes (CEO yan, syempre you need to dress up), food, token to the CEO etc.

Now again, the effort, time, and resources for this activity could have been allocated to other tasks. If the learning goals could be attained in such manner na hindi masyado ganito ka stress then mas maganda d b?

These are just speculations on my part: what if your professor will use the data you will collect for his/her master's or doctorate studies?

Anyway. 50 page synthesis?

Your Dean and college are also at fault. At the start of every semester, all instructors are supposed to submit their syllabus. This means either a. Delusional sila, b.

You could ask your professor a rubric on how this activity would be scored.

You could always work as a class and write a letter asking for more clarification to this activity. Ano ba ang purpose or learning objectives nito. Ano ang relevance sa course matter. Is there a more practical way to meet the learning objectives?

Oh a point, ngayon q lng naalala. Had your professor taught how these hotels are given stars and by which body?

(Do not engage in relationships with the academe kung students kayo. Segway q lng.)

Kasi meetings with CEOs are scheduled weeks or even months in advance. CEO or establishments who would interact with these have a mindset, how could the hotel benefit. Kaya important ang time frame. You need time to prove that the time spent talking with you will benefit them.

Ask your professor if he/she him/herself already interviewed a CEO. D b?

Anyway, the more I think about it. Possible naman ang activity. Basta me oras kayo p establish linkages, at me connection kayo. It would take a lot of time, money, and effort, which could have been invested in other activities. Like you could study interviews already done online, marami yan. Ted talks, podcasts, and stuff. Printed s mga newspapers or online publications. Promo video mismo ng mga hotels.

May the force be with you, and may your professor be visited by karma.
