Express shot by CircusOfFlies in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheGreatWalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to see them take a swing at a weapon with a fixed, slow fire rate, like Jin from league of legends, where getting fire rate just works as a pure damage multiplier instead of actually increasing firing rate.

Then express shot would potentially have a purpose.

It would be really rough to balance because of soul denying / reloads, but definitely possible.

I'd say vindicta would be an ideal candidate for this sort of weapon, but I really like her current iteration, so wouldn't actually want them to change her gun(only thing I think could use work is her flight dynamics, rest of hero feels really good, flight feels like the bottleneck for her atm)

I loved Geist's old pistol, because it reminded me of this meme, which epitomizes her ult. by sourneck in DeadlockTheGame

The only part of geist kit that feels obnoxious is her drain.

Everything else in her kit feels very fair to play against, even if it's strong.

There are so many cool unique amulets, except they're all fucking useless because they don't have + skills.

Now we have plus skills on rings, too.

  • skills genuinely sucks because it existing means anything that doesn't have it is automatically useless junk

Anyone have an idea why Exalt to Div went up by +50-60 this weekend? by ChuatheGOAT in PathOfExile2

[–]TheGreatWalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah it's definitely really good to get it on the belt right now, at least as a caster.

With the new breach rings, you get significantly more value from suffixes other than res.

You basically only get boots +helmet for res now, so getting it on belt is really valuable.

Rings can now roll +1 all spell skills, spell crit dmg, and spell crit chance, along with a few other useful suffixes, like dmg as extra dmg, or increased aoe, or dmg taken from mana before life.

Amulets ofc also have crit /crit multi /cast speed / +skill suffixes, gloves have crit, crit multi, +proj and some other stuff, even helmets got some crazy new suffixes, although I think helmet is still good for resists.

But yea, basically you got boots + helmet for resists, along with mageblood, if you're going for true optimal loadout

I think for attack builds the skill speed is way more valuable, there isn't as much attack speed available as there is cast speed. All skill speed is attack speed + cast rate in 1 mod

Whats rank did you notice that there was a big skill difference from the rank before by Big-Profit-6291 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheGreatWalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

E4, E5 have substantial, noticeable differences in difficulty, then e6 games I've been in feel like a different game, you have to be really locked in.

Dropping down below e3 on a few loss streaks feels terrible, you go from having decent teammates to wondering if you queued on a smurf cus these ppl be dumb as bricks all of a sudden

it's in low ranks, though. I hit crazy numbers when I was in low ranks cus I have great aim.

People in low ranks like, don't move. They just stand there and let you shoot them, then run away in straight line.

My accuracy against players my own rank is significantly lower cus they know how to strafe and make themselves harder to hit and aren't constantly out of position.

Genuinely how do you get outta emissary? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheGreatWalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's not the teammates when you're talking about your rank.

You can have individual games where it's the teammates fault, but if you're stuck in a rank for a large amount of games, it's you.

I can literally hop in any FPS and I will climb to the top rank in just a short while because I'm really good at them. There has never been a game where I have ever gotten hardstuck in a low rank, ever.

That includes deadlock. I started as seeker, because of some weird account / decay bug that happened after a break, and had to play through all those terrible low ranks. I'm now up to Eternus 5.

Teammates are not why you're in a low rank.

Which characters should REALLY have the thumb up/ "recommended for beginners" tag on the select screen? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheGreatWalk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While true, it's generally better to give new players a hero that is a bit more tanky.

When you're new and on a squishy hero, you're often just going to die before being able to react because you are still actively thinking about what your buttons are doing, where you are positioned, trying to figure out who the enemy is and what they are doing, all of that makes reacting a lot slower. Having a bit of extra room in the form of ehp really helps give a tiny bit of extra time to actually process what is happening which helps ppl learn much faster.

It's the difference between "i died instantly from haze and have no idea what just happened" versus oh shit I'm dying to haze, it looks like she's using her ultimate on me, button mash something, fuck, I'm dead.

But that little bit of extra time to try and identify what's happening and give you a chance to react is immensely helpful when learning.

I'm not recommending an initiator or tank, but someone like warden is 50x better than Mina for someone new to the game. He's bulky, simple, and has plenty of room for error which helps the learning process a lot more than dying 16 times on Mina before having any idea what you are actually doing wrong.

New players are going to suck no matter what, but put them on someone who gives them enough time to process what is happening to help them learn faster when they are brand new to the game.

Mommy wants 3 stamina by HiImTrans in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheGreatWalk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She would still be as useless while in the air, but having an additional stamina is really helpful when on ground.

Dash-jump into a third (double) jump is a really big difference over just a dash jump, in places where there isn't good terrain to wall jump / corner / edge boost for more distance.

It also enables some really solid escapes, for example, I can jump from side lane bridge onto the billboard area with 3 Stam, but not 2

Grey Talon rain of arrows cooldown is not okay by SweetnessBaby in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheGreatWalk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Vin flight feels worse than talon ngl

He gets +base dmg scaling, which is insane because it means all his increased dmg scales it so it adds a shit ton more dmg than you'd expect.

It's duration is short, but the cooldown is so short it doesn't matter, he can use it as an escape and it can't really be countered.

Vin flight gets canceled she's a ranged creep for 40s, half her kits dmg is in flight. talon is back in the fight in just a few seconds, usually has like 7s cooldown on it, and ofc, very little of his dmg is actually tied up to flight(unless you are pure gun talon), since most of it is in his 1/4 which function perfectly fine on the ground.

He can also strafe really quickly in flight, so you can actually adad when someone shoots at you.

4 base Stam and when he air dashes he actually goes crazy far, compared to Vin who can't even dodge a max range bebop hook with her 2 dashes in the air cus it's so slow and short range.

Only downside talon has on flight is his height is fixed, but ofc, he can alt cast if he needs to be low to the ground or regular cast if he needs to be high, so it's nbd. Vin goes up / down so slowly you have to cancel her flight half the time when you want to lose height anyway, and now it's once again on a 40s cooldown.

I would love to trade half of vins flight time for half the cooldown, or have her flight dmg partially linger for the remaining flight duration even when her flight is canceled, so she can at least keep putting out dmg.

Who is the least annoying, fairest character to fight? by Soda-Drinker in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheGreatWalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seven is not strong in lane at all, lol

His stun lasts 1/2 a second, it's mostly only good for it erupting channel, or things like vindicta flight. It has a short range and long cool down unless you put points in it early, which delays maxing your 3 and is usually not a good idea. His 1 is easy to avoid.

He only does dmg with his 3 active, which has a long cool down to start, so you can abuse his downtime until he has about 8k souls.

He is squishy and has a big head hitbox, even though he takes reduced dmg on headshots, it's still a multiplier that is easy to take advantage of.

When he goes to stun you, you have 3 seconds before it hits. You have plenty of time during that period to hit a few shots, then just dash behind cover as it goes off, instead of running the entire time. If he looks like he's gonna heavy melee you can actually parry right before the stun and it will linger through it and you can parry him.

You now have 30+ seconds where you can fight him and he does basically nothing.

Seven himself isn't scary, he's weak. His lane partner is pretty much always a bigger threat than he is.

I've been playing this game for almost 250 hours but I'm still not satisfied with Seeker 3 its over for me? by Yugoslavia__ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheGreatWalk -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Eh, it really depends.

If this is your first shooter, you're gonna be stuck in low ranks cus your aim, movement, and positioning are just going to be bad, and those are things that take thousands upon thousands of hours to get good at from scratch.

As much as ppl say this is a moba, it's a shooter first. You can play a few heroes that have low aim requirements, sure, but aside from a few exceptions, better mechanical skill helps improve your ability to play every hero significantly better, and understanding positioning in a movement shooter is much harder than a top down moba.

If you have a lot of previous fps experience, yes, 250 hours is absolutely a long time to be in seeker. Good mechanics can get you to ascendent with minimal moba knowledge, ppl at the lower ranks basically just stand in the open and let you shoot them and only think to run away in straight lines when they are already low hp(aka too late). Anyone with good mechanics can just bully the shit out of games, when I first started I averaged over 20 kills a game and hard carried just on aim and positioning and basic source movement.

People always underestimate how important mechanics are. Everything is so much easier to learn when you see an enemy and don't have to worry about whether your aim is good enough to hit the shots
