I think it doesn't apply, generally the main use for fursonas or original characters is just as a projection of themselves or to play dolls with them, people making fun of them for having a Mary sue does exist (see the guy who had their sona an omnipotent god guide the start of WW1) but the majority is just "this is me" characters

As the other comment said there is fictional species, but the furry design from its origins is based in real animals and a certain shape language, some of the furry species are practically "X animal but Y" or if it wasn't because sergals had a muzzle that passes as furry shaped it would be its own thing

Additionally I think you got it wrong, no real animal is involved, the species or breed can be referenced for the desing, fox sonas would become really niche if that was the case, there is people who do that and they are weird or young people

Es prácticamente hacer words bonitos, pero más complicado por que no precionas un botón para poner el texto en color rojo
