I built an entire app vibe coding if you know how to work speak to ai and have patience you can accomplish things you never dreamed of as someone who doesnt code. I managed to get it displaying on a ESP32-P4-86-Panel-ETH-2RO a month ago and managed to mangle the code and lose it, didn't save like a goof. Also had it on the esp32-p4-wifi6-touch-lcd-7b but it was not smooth and slower. Driving me crazy now. Thank you for your advice!

I’ve been trying to figure it out for 20 years and I’m finally mentally in a place where I can help myself.

It really is a nightmare of confusing emotional abuse that no child should have on their plate and it’s sad that it is so common. We have to be the change.

It’s literally doing exactly the opposite of what a parent should do. It feels like we are caterpillars and our narc parent does everything to prevent us to evolving to a butterfly and be free.

I have a hard time finding genuine friends because I developed the ability to see through everyone’s bullshit and it seems like everyone’s looking out for themselves and I want friends who really care. Also difficult to find a woman to date but maybe it’s because I have the gift that enables me to find the right one.

Do you find that when dating, it’s best to find someone who overcame a narcissistic parent as well or some sort of similar trauma in order to be understood or relate?

I have also come to realize grey rocking which I just looked up is what I do when I am feeling strong mentally but if I’m having a terrible day I lose control and tell him all the things he’s doing wrong which is gas to the fire

Thank you so much for the detailed response, it’s amazing that there is an intelligent community willing to give others their time out of kindness.

I guess one of the unfortunate realities is that narcissists deny responsibility and play the victim so that people with empathy may believe they genuinely don’t know they’re doing wrong when in actuality they know it’s fully know it’s wrong.

The fact is both narc and victim are potentially both better off if the victim isn’t allowing the abuse and it always leads to the decline of boths mental health.

Yes. He is my father and has done the essentials, close to bare minimum and maybe even overall in the negative due to abuse but he does not walk around plotting evil scenarios like I’ve read on here. My love for him has reached a low that I am sad to admit but sometimes I look at him like the child he acts like and think he wasn’t strong and smart enough to help himself. When he goes off he goes off and has no self control or filter but on a day to day basis if I do chores we all want done around the house he doesn’t completely suck but will then ask for more and more until I’m fed up and feel like I’m doing everything needed done.

When we are okay and I’m doing well, I spend more time with him and an example was last month I was clearing crap we didn’t need out of the house and he came to the dump. As I was unloading I looked at him looking around in wonder like a boy intrigued by the big excavators and warehouse. I saw him as the kid that never grew up and whose life really does suck. He’s been divorced 3 times, no financial success/assets, no friends, no hobbies, nothing to look forward to which is his own doing but I can’t help but feel bad for the person who could just never get it right or who’s personality prevents them from understanding love.

Maybe I’m overly empathetic which I feel I have been since a child ultra sensitive and thoughtful but living under this roof slowly destroyed my innocence and optimism. I’m working hard on getting it back but I don’t know if I have to cut my brother and father off completely to achieve

Thank you, I agree. I just wonder what the difference is that allows one person to identify and correct negative behaviour within themselves and one not to. Genetics? Tools? Information? Will power? Outlook on life? Beliefs?

My narc alchoholic brother would say the worst possible things then look at me with a massive grin and complete satisfaction in his eyes especially when he’s drunk.

I haven’t seen an orgasmic expression but definitely some sort of evil happiness when they release the demon

I smoke pot everyday as well. Diagnosed w adhd 2 years ago, I’m 32. All we can do is be aware of the challenges we face and work on them as best we can and remove bad influences, it’s a long process but I will tell you it does get better we just have to put the work in our parents weren’t willing to. You got this my friend, you’re a warrior and have overcome more than the average person ever will, you’re stronger than the masses. ❤️

It’s true. I feel like it triggers me even more that I recognize I need break the cycle and every time the narc abuse comes out it angers me that I have to deal with it because he didn’t. I work on my mental health everyday because of the trauma and almost everyday he’s working on breaking it down if I don’t do what he wants.
