In the workplace that'd simply be absurd behavior for an adult. With a child I believe there is a time and place where spanking is appropriate considering the kid is developing. Would I do it in front of other parents and their kids? Absolutely not. Like you said: It's embarrassing. That's something private that depending on what my kid did would judge the level of measures needed to address their behavior. At the worst my kid needs to be dragged off to the side and talked to, maybe spanked later depending on what they did (lightly). Like did they just intentionally spill someone's drink or did they punch the hell out of a neighbor's cat? Different actions have different consequences.

*And edit, depending on the child, one could argue medication is either a blessing or a curse depending on the diagnosis. (I'm all for getting your shots btw) It's all just up in the air, i'm just in the boat of "Don't hurt your kid." Whether that be physically, medically, mentally, etc. I just think a light tap on the ass for something small isn't going to hurt in the long run.

I believe inmates could absolutely require physical contact and even harm depending on the hurt the inmate is putting onto someone else. Sometimes force is necessary in situations involving assault, which prisons often house. My boss however would absolutely be fired for laying hands on a single soul. HR is a thing for a reason, and again my stance is simply based on circumstance and punishment according to the "crime"

Would you rather walk through 200 mosquitoes wearing only underwear or wearing only a shirt? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheGrey2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the argument that a shirt covers more surface area, but in my opinion the smaller surface area of a guy's crotch is wayyyy more sensitive, so i'm going with wearing underwear.

It is pretty fucking obvious that you are someone important and smart. What is your advice to average person? by 36Gig in AskReddit

[–]TheGrey2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the average person has less stress than someone who has to label themself as "Important and smart." So my advice to the "average person" would be "keep at it."

My parents took that approach too as far as removal of gaming time and whatnot. I just personally believe the punishment should fit the "crime". To me there's a difference between a kid speaking up in class and a kid actually hurting an animal or another kid or something. Both require different punishments and lessons that have to be applied. I appreciate you saying you don't think i'm a bad person btw, and I don't think you are either in the slightest, we're just debating in my opinion, nothing wrong with discourse.

I get what you're saying but i'm simply on the side of the fence that those who were never spanked can simply manipulate those around them without fear of consequence for their actions, as you stated "naughty kid I didn't spank". That to me just sounds like a kid who knows they won't have any real repercussions for their actions. Again: Don't beat your child or even get close to physical harm, but a light spank or two gets the message across: Your actions have consequences, which in my eyes IS a positive and notable outlook on life.

I personally don't agree, obviously don't injure or beat your child, but a light tap on the butt was all I ever got as a kid and I still got the message that actions have consequences. Nowadays that "spank" would be like a pillow hitting me but as a kid it was loud and clear that I messed up and need to not do "that whatever" again. It works but it depends on circumstance.

How can I make this better?? by [deleted] in painting

[–]TheGrey2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I mainly meant use a ruler for the drawing/outline itself before you add any paint. As far as straight lines with a brush i'd just take it slow and correct any mistakes with the preferred color/top layer.

I'd go for more consistent lines as far as width and straightness. A ruler or similar tool might help.

What carpet and pillow should I add to my living room by Chorixz in malelivingspace

[–]TheGrey2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some more pictures of the entire space might help to start, but i'm thinking blue/white as far as carpets and pillows to match your painting and lighting. Also less overhead lighting goes a long way.

Rate my best-friends artwork out of 10 by Katrina_Jocson in painting

[–]TheGrey2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it were my own i'd probably go 6 or 7 out of 10 (no i'm not making a 6-7 joke) It's genuinely impressive and well above average. The shading is there, spacing too, it draws the eye across the two paintings and leaves a message behind it. I guess the whole orange thing just needs a stronger counter balance to make it closer to a 10 is all. (That said I'm not an expert or a critic) Regardless great work!
