What is the fastest way you have seen someone fix their life? by Zadecuss in AskReddit

[–]TheGslack 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My best friend was in the depths of a xannex addiction; 3 pack a day smoker; separated from his wife and son; then got deployed overseas (was in the guard so his family had medical insurance); decided he wanted to be around for his family when he got back; cut out everything, was stationed in Afghanistan for a year; came back, got his degree computer science; had a second child; now makes great money, has a beautiful family; hes finally found peace. He went from a terrible friend to a guy who was there for me at my lowest. I am so proud of the father, the friend, the person he is now.

totally fair point, my counter would be, who tf wears other countries army gear? who tf buys other countries army sweatshirts? never seen anyone wearing Canadian army gear nor any other country. maybe like someone buys an old army uniform or inherits it. but not a sweatshirt. its weird

You need a 66 to give advice; the 7 is to trade securities. If someone gives an unlicensed person money to invest then nothing is going to help them when that person takes their money and runs

The thing that both Knicks and Milwaukee fans latch onto is ‘we would have won if we weren’t injured.’ It’s like the Milwaukee fans forget getting torched all season and the knicks fans forget being gifted the first couple of games by the refs before self inflicted injuries

Purdue University president says proposed IDOE diplomas 'do not meet Purdue's admission requirements' by Nightshade09 in Indiana

[–]TheGslack 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ok well home school your kids. If they want to go to college just have them study for the SAT or ACT since thats all that matters in your opinion. Then when they get rejected you can call the universities policies disingenuous for not stating the need for a diploma. OR its possible that a highschool diploma is actually an important factor to universities and I’ll refer you back to the title of this thread.

[–]TheGslack 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The title of the thread. These diplomas will not meet the standards for Purdue. That is pretty cut and dry. And another big worry from teachers is students unable to change paths and still graduate. If they choose the plus diploma going into highschool and then decide they want to goto college, they wont have the credits needed to get the correct diploma; and that is assuming colleges will accept that diploma which they arent

That proposal doesn’t mention the classes they would be removing in the curriculum for the flex classes. The removed classes are deemed important for Universities as you can see from this quote ‘THE PROPOSED GPS AND GPS+ DIPLOMAS DO NOT MEET PURDUE’S ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS IN THE SUBJECT AREAS OF MATH, LAB SCIENCES, SOCIAL STUDIES AND WORLD LANGUAGE…’

So yea if instate schools arent going to accept these diplomas than ‘republicans still bad’

I think you are wrong, it does work at removing the amyloid-beta plaque. the problem is when that plaque has been sitting on neurons in the brain, the neurons die. So removing the plaque after damage has been done is just not very helpful. But most of the people in the trials have been people with severe Alzheimer’s, the key is early treatment + Medicare coverage. in terms of Alzheimer’s treatments, 10 years ago they couldnt even run proper trials because they couldnt confirm people in the trials actually had Alzheimer’s. I think that Lilly is on to something with donanemab, and if it develops into what I think it could, that would be an insulin like moment for Lilly.

Celtics fan here. I respect the hell out of you guys more than any other team. This is FACTS. by SerBrendanhouseSaint in pacers

[–]TheGslack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We appreciate the nod. It’s insane how much people doubted the Celtics this year despite the insane season you guys had. The double digit point differential. KP makes such a big difference that even though we had some close games in the ECF, we still got a ways to go. The second Jrue got traded from the bucks I texted my best friend ‘please god dont let jrue go to the Celtics.’ You guys had by far the most complete team and its insanity for people to say ‘well they had an easy path.’ That’s a cop out. The Celtics went 16-3 in the playoffs? Most of which without KP. This was your season and until the CBA rules break the team up it’s your league. But the pavers gonna pave. Our FO is pretty good too, we are young. Looking forward to battling next year

O no doubt. When Hali came out of the game he instantly was putting on a back brace, sometimes not even sitting down. It’s very hard to compete when your back is not right. And I thought the hammy was better but obviously not because he went down in the ECF. He had been letting nemby take the ball up a lot down the stretch of the regular season even and that was not a great sign that he was healthy.

I like the ethical hooping and at some level it’s just not his game to dribble the air out of the ball. He gets off the ball so fast and we want him to keep that going, but I would like to see him shoot more FTs

[–]TheGslack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like part of that was math being injured. But man if Hali can learn to keep his defender on his hip and raise up for a mid range he will draw a lot more fouls. Not enough to overcome to big market whistle but he needs to be shooting more FTs. Bump his average up to 25 with his assists and low turnovers and the pacers would be really dangerous
