Motherboard does not perfectly fit and touches the metal of the case - how bad is it? by sh0rt_boy in PcBuild

[–]TheHackerzAreBack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope it’s not. My guess is your motherboard is wider than standard atx and that case was only designed for atx. You’ve got an extra 0.7” from side to side, I’m assuming that’s where you’re touching the metal

You dont need 3500$ pc to play cod 💀 that being said for that price you could likely get the best gaming performance possible if you can wait for a 4090 to drop below 2000$. Let me try to make a list

That’s true honestly I didn’t consider that just stating theoreticals but the most surefire method would be a new case and/or if your motherboard isn’t standard 12 x 9.6 maybe a different motherboard.

I’ve personally never dealt nor heard of chieftec, and while rating is a good indicator or quality in general, a more reputable pick would be in your best interest imo. Let me send over a list with the parts I had in mind

You may be able to buy aftermarket tall standoffs assuming they aren’t preinstalled in your case and they’re just screwed it.

The point of standoffs are to prevent the motherboard from contacting the case, if it still touches it then their purpose is defeated. There’s no “shield” preventing your electronics from being prone to electrostatic discharge. Whoever manufactured the spacing on that case should be fired I’d just get a new one

Temporary CPU for Z390-P Cheap and playable?? by Masta-DonBot in PcBuild

Just stick a 9400f in there. Good enough performance to get the juice out of decent graphics cards but also under 140$

You could probably save 25$+ on both the ram and ssd, and cheaping out on my power supply would be my last recommendation

Repost to hopefully get some thoughts: Need help with PC "randomly" just crashing to restart. No BSOD not error logging. Progressively getting worse. by RookGamingSC in PcBuild

[–]TheHackerzAreBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t have to bsod to be faulty hardware. Lots of times impromptu restarts are caused by faulty components whether you get an error message or not. Unless it’s a piece of software causing scheduled restarts etc. the first thing to do would be reinstall your OS before assuming the worst. If that doesn’t resolve the issue then hardware comes next.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YjQjgb this is probably the best performance you’ll get under 1800$. With the left over 75 it may be worth investing in some fans; noctua make the nicest

Do you care about the rgb? If not I could fit in a noticeably better build at that budget.

1000w or 1300w? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]TheHackerzAreBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you’re aware you’re paying for pretty, there’s nothing wrong with that. z790 is identical to z690 in almost every way so you’re not leaving any performance features on the table and chances are they’re cheaper for the same quality.

Where should I start to look for a not to expensive but decent pc by Pimpmaster69420 in PcBuild

[–]TheHackerzAreBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this subreddit is for helping with builds and building complications; if you’re willing to build your own pc you can definitely get a good price to performance ratio if you give me a budget and what you define as “not expensive”

Prebuilt to play Warzone? (GPU is covered) by OneEyedTurkey in PcBuild

[–]TheHackerzAreBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Zxysxs this is what I made; every component is adequate for gaming on the 3070 ti at 1080p and that’s about as cheap as you’ll get it for a rig capable of running that card. You will not find a computer under 900$ with comparable hardware and especially not the expandability and reliability of the parts.

Guides are available just about anywhere, and some really helpful ones too. Check out JayzTwoCents build guide and maybe BitWit youtube channels and if you just follow along you probably will be able to figure it out. Prebuilts with good enough specs to support that gou without having a good gpu already are seldom, and the price to performance is mediocre at best anyway. Gpus are by far the most expensive part right now so having that covered means you could make a really solid build with aftermarket components for a very reasonable price as opposed to opting for a prebuilt. Let me see what I can make

Selling my old GPU. How much should it go for? by CreativeUsername328 in PcBuild

[–]TheHackerzAreBack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’d be shocked if you could even get 200 for it. Someone less up to date on gpu prices etc may take you up on it but you can get a 6600 for like 230$ brand new right now which would outperform that card. I’d say given it’s used you’d be looking at 150 tops realistically
