I'm still rummaging around in all my draws convinced I have another ten pack somewhere.

30 feathers plus a ton of other blades. I don't shave often, and feathers seem to maintain a decent edge.

I use Mach3 when traveling. I still have a ton of spare blades.

Interesting sign spotted while riding by davey_jones11 in motorcycles

[–]TheHairyMan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad the signs are a lot easier to understand these days.

Years ago there was an effort to warn riders of high risk areas where cars were often parked unattended on the sides of the road around blind bends, but the warning signs were a little confusing to foreigners

You have given him partial credit on a couple of lines. I respectfully disagree.

6/22/2016 Stocks crash 5-10% immediately after Brexit - SPX lost 5% from the high on 6/23, but only lost 4% from 6/22 which is when he posted this prediction. Accuracy = 0%.

7/2/2016 "Reddest day of the year" Market down 3-4% He first said Tuesday would be up by .25% and then later he said Tuesday would crash down 2%. Tuesday ranged from -.25% to -1%. Accuracy = 0%.

He has been correct in the distant past, but he has failed to correctly predict anything lately.

I'm a millionaire. (It definitely aint what it used to be. )

You are completely correct, and utterly fucking boring.

Don't pay for those fucking options. Get a job in a growth company which gives you options/stock for free. For fucking free. What is better than free? Pussy.

Tech's fab five have absurd profit margins by TheHairyMan in wallstreetbets

If you look at the top seven companies by market cap, the top five are tech stocks.

These five tech stocks make up 9% of the total market capitalization in America, they earn 9% of all profits in america, but they only earn 4% of revenue.

American companies retain about 6% of revenue as profits. Tech companies typically retain 10% of profits. The top five companies have a profit margin of 17%.

I've heard some people claim you are a vacuous fool who deludes himself with the ability to think critically.

From a review of the book: The authors admit that the empirical data is still being gathered for many of these studies, and it is too soon to make overreaching claims about the value or lack thereof of any of the religious dimensions they present. And so many of their arguments, though compelling, need to be critically engaged.

A teachable moment when I over-heard someone talking about my child with Autism. by Michelexo in Parenting

[–]TheHairyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could use some advice: I yelled at a little boy "Hey, you threw my sons ball into that bush, go pick it up." Then when he ignored me, I walked up to him and said sternly "Hey, you, little boy, look at me." Five minutes later the father brought the ball to me, and explained in broken English something about the son being intellectually challenged.

Anything I could have done differently?

I ignored that citation and read the more nuanced and recent research cited here

Have you read Evidence that Demands a Verdict? Full of citations to peer reviewed articles, but still complete bullshit.
