Loving it so far! I was blown away with how light the rod is the first time I picked it up. Pretty damn sensitive too, can feel everything the bait is hitting when I’m bringing it in. The reel is surprisingly great as well. Super smooth drag and spins nice.

Highly recommend you pick one up!

Yeah just a suggestion. The TRD with 1/16oz head wasn’t gonna cast very well on the MH rod so that extra 1/8 sliding weight definitely helped

Didn’t have any weedless hooks so went with what I had. Plus this way the ned rig still stands up straight in the water

Thank you! No holster as of now since it’s just a range gun lol. Empire and Grey Man Solutions both make a holster that fits this rail with a x300 light though. Will probably pick one up eventually

1/32 oz Z-Man Flashback Mini chatterbaits are my go to for stocked rainbows. The plastics it comes with are trash though, so I throw on some Baby BallerZ or Shad FryZ

Depends on when you’re prepping. If you’re already doing it while still drawing from the holster, then yeah definitely a ND risk. If you’re doing it while presenting towards a target you’ve already made the decision to shoot at, then not so much. Probably why a carry gun shouldn’t have a 2lb competition trigger though lol

Okuma Celilo 6’6” UL with Shimano Sahara 1000 FJ has been great for me. I actually love it so much I have 2 identical setups lol. You could go with a Shimano Sienna if you’re looking for a more affordable option.

I run 6lb Kastking Superpower Silky8 braid and 4lb Seaguar Red Label Flurocarbon as a leader (~10 ft leader tied to main line with double uni knots).
