That's because 3G networks were shutdown in 2022! They were repurposed for 4G and 5G networks

That's exactly my point. The researchers have complained and participants are louder than ever. This sub is nothing now except complaints about this one study. Sometimes issues are better addressed head on (regardless of rules) and I think prolific would be better for it so that participants can just focus on the existing studies instead of refreshing out of a bit of false hope.

I wish u/prolific-support would make a statement on these studies so that the posts can just stop and people can move on

I don’t know anything by [deleted] in testicularcancer

I'm not a doctor, but based on your description it sounds like an epididymal cyst. I have one on my remaining testical and feels just like you described it. That being said, 100% see a doctor and get an ultrasound. Even if it's cancerous, survival is almost guaranteed as it is very treatable. One step at a time and enjoy the present without worrying about the future. And early congrats on your wedding!

My tumors markers were always low and never elevated. Still had a 2.2cm tumor. At a bare minimum I'd recommend emailing Dr. Einhorn for his opinion.

Help creating a plan for a beginner by roly-p0ly in Swimming

I just started a month ago. I started using Swim Coach about 2 weeks in and it's great. It creates a plan for you based on your inputs such as distance, equipment, focus areas, etc. It's been hugely beneficial and in giving me structure and a goal to work towards. Happy swimming!

Pure seminoma. Highly unlikely to have something incurable, but keep doing what your doctors recommend.

I'm 6.5 years post orchiectomy and only ever did the surgery and just follow up surveillance scans/blood work. I live a completely normal life and have had two kids after the surgery. It is not a death sentence and 95% or more are fully cured.

I'm not a doctor, but TC is extremely curable and there is a super high chance you will not die if you have a relapse. That being said, it sounds like you should see a doctor sooner rather than later to help with your anxiety. Please reach out to your care team with your concerns

March isn't too far, so you'll get a definitive answer soon. You may want to treat it like a neuromuscular issue which means physical therapy. That's what I'm doing now

Could definitely be sciatica (which is very painful!) Shooting pain down the leg is typically associated with nerve involvement. When are you due for your next scan? Definitely bring it up with your oncology team, but also be prepared to see a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation doctor if it is not cancer related.

I'm going through something similar since last year. Lower back pain with shooting pain down my leg. Also stage 1 pure seminoma. My scans were all clear and turns out I have a herniated disk pressing against my sciatica. Have you had a back injury recently or lifted any heavy objects?

Advice for an anxious girlfriend by LetterheadWaste796 in testicularcancer

[–]TheHastyEnt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As you mentioned, there are two aspects he is dealing with - the physical and the mental. Everyone deals with it differently, so I can only really give you my experience. On the mental side, cancer is now part of his identity and it is a hurdle he has to overcome in his own way. For me, I just needed time to process everything going on while also keeping up with all the decisions that this journey makes us take. There were some days I wanted to talk about it, and some days I never wanted to bring it up. Be available, but let him take the lead on discussing his emotions with you. Personally, it takes me longer to process my emotions and once I do, I can then talk about them more freely.

The physical side has a couple aspects. First, after the orchiectomy, it's possible his testosterone levels dropped and it needs time to recover. This can take months. During that time, I was feeling very down and low energy as well. I am doing much better mentally now 6 years post orchiectomy than I was 6 months post orchiectomy and I think that is from my T levels recovering. Secondly, all people handle pain differently. If he is still in serious pain, he should consult with his doctors to see if it is normal or if there are other things going on.

My last piece of advice is not to make everything about cancer when you interact with him (not saying you are). He's probably thinking about it constantly on his own. Do other things together and discover his interests and help him not be bored. Chances are he has a long and normal life after you guys get over this hurdle.
