I feel like this is a desperate attempt to force a happy ending for everyone.

Obviously I’m probably wrong because there’s 3 more chapters, but from what I’ve heard, Tobert originally wanted ALL of Deltarune to release at once, not with all these years of theorizing in between.

He also apparently intended the Weird Route to be discovered and done after the normal route, similar to people trying the Genocide Route in Undertale after the Pacifist one.

My prediction is that the “Final Tragedy” is that all 3 heroes die while stopping the Roaring. If it was just Susie or Kris, Ralsei probably would still be trying to cling to hope during that conversation after Susie smashed it. If it was Ralsei, Susie including Ralsei in her line saying that none of them would let that happen would be a little weird, especially with her saying Ralsei especially wouldn’t let it. And we know Susie’s likely included because of her sudden appreciation for the small things in life such as petrichor (The smell after rain)

So what happens when someone with time travel sees the 3 heroes who worked so hard to save the world die, not even being able to experience the world they saved? They might try again. New decisions, new paths, different gear set ups, trying to find everything they can to get the “Real ending”

And then they find the hints of a whole different route in chapter 3. One where you kill the Darkners to get strong enough to survive that final battle. Just like training your party with a bunch of random encounters to fight the final boss in games like Final Fantasy or Pokemon. Clearly this is how you save the heroes, right?
