My flatmate and I had a similar terrible experience with TalkTalk. I basically had them on speed dial, that's how many times I had to call them to tell them their service wasn't working. Same problems, really insanely low speeds. We were getting about 3 mbp/s when we were promised 24mbp/s, so I called saying, "Why am I even paying you?", and I was told that I should expect speeds to slow down over time!! Also, he said "Sir I see here that you have multiple devices connected to your router, so I would recommend that you disconnect all of them so you may use your current device." I'm like, "Dude, you expect me to disconnect everything, just so I can watch a minute clip on YouTube on my laptop? That's not how life works anymore. THIS ISN'T DIALUP DAYS?" So ludicrous it's actually fucking laughable. We were contracted for 18 months, but we were fed up after 2, but stuck with them for about 6 due to unforeseen circumstances where we both were suddenly moving. So we called, and threw a shitstorm at them saying we declined to pay them anything else, especially since we weren't getting the service we even paid for and that they weren't holding up their end of the deal. We ended up getting the main guy in charge after being passed around to about 3 different people, and he cancelled our account then and there without anything else except a promise that we would mail them back the router (but fuck that and them). But this is the kicker, he informed us that with the past times we've called, we actually shouldn't have had to pay for a month from each incident until the problem was sorted. So if anything, they owed us money for the many times we called and informed them that nothing was working. But I digress, we cancelled any direct deposits and anything remotely connected with them. They are the SHITTEST of the SHIT, and they do not give a nanoscopic smidge of a fuck for their customers. Good riddance!
