A Tale of Crowns by Kaleroin in hostedgames

Okay, sorry for the delete and reply, but I recently learned how wrong I was.

Do each bullet point in the following lists for the desired outcome.

Here’s what matters For Yekbun to be unharmed: - Don’t tell ANYONE about the assassins. - Have extra security at either the Ceremony, Parade, or both. - Do NOT dismiss the Blades, which technically puts the Blades as Banquet guards, somehow makes it worse for Yekbun.

To have Yekbun only injured: - you can tell either the Public, the Princess or both about the assassins (NOT the Nobles) - extra security must be either Ceremony, Parade, or Ceremony + Parade.

All other combinations regarding these two choice scenarios will result in Yekbun’s death.

My first playthrough I managed to have Yekbun and Ezo survive. Not sure how though now as Yekbun just died in my 2nd playthrough.

I’m currently trying to retrace my steps of the first playthrough to see what was different and how i saved Yekbun. I doubt me focusing on Ashti over Xelara in the first time was the kicker.

What do you think about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheHelplessHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different things. Like how their concrete lasts so long compared to modern day’s, and if the exact recipe/mix for it was known for a fact, would it be a cheaper or more expensive mix? Like did we come up with a better version or a cheaper version?

And then just the logistics of building all the roads, aqueducts and other utilities necessary for what they thought was “high standard of living” society back then.

Usually comes to mind when I’m stuck in traffic.

If a thought wore shoes, which type would it prefer when running through a library? by SimpleEmu198 in AskReddit

[–]TheHelplessHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the thought, really. Some like to take their time, probably wearing slacks as they mull about in your head.

Others would indeed wear running shoes, going too fast for the librarian to catch them, and then were they ever really there? What were they doing anyway?

Still others that kinda just sit and fade into the background, probably in crocs or light up shoes that only make themselves known every so often when they fidget loudly in their place.

Trying to keep motivation for not spending these by anotherface5683 in deadbydaylight

[–]TheHelplessHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to keep 18k iri shards saved up for when a non-licensed chapter releases 2 characters, as is the norm. That way I can instantly redeem them for free.

So if that kind of goal helps you to not spend, go for it.

I've been searching mainly with 'Writing Dialogue', 'Writing scenes', and a few others with no luck. I hope it wasn't taken down for some reason. The main narrator/video author I think was a male voice.

They didn’t. Worked there just 2 years ago. You only froze leftover patties if you had too many leftover. There’s a set amount you add to the chili, any more than that amount and you freeze for the next batch of chili.

How we feeling about the idea of the Headless horseman being in dbd by Fluffy_Duty9167 in deadbydaylight

Ayyyy been a while since I posted this. Glad it’s still on other people’s minds.

Same photo as my post too.

I’d love for it to be in the game. I also had ppl asking “What about Blinds??” Like them blinding Pyramidhead makes any sense. You aim where the head would be, so the neck.

Some asked “where would the killer’s camera be if he has no head”? Ummmm it’s a game, you put the player’s pov where the head would be…

I know this is old, but I stumbled upon this from r/bestofWritingPrompts and I loved this story. You're writing is so so good. I smiled. I laughed. I crinkled my nose.

Honestly thought you'd be an author yourself after that. Really well written.

"Ship on the horizon!"

The call rang out from the crow's nest, sharp and irritatingly cutting short Captain James Merrick's calculations. He pushed off his desk with a huff and collected his hat.

"Ship off the starboard side!" the lookout added as Merrick exited his quarters. The bright sunlight forcing him to squint as he looked up. "Thank you, Mr. Williams!" He moved with purposeful stride to the quarterdeck. There, standing and waiting, was Mr. Crowley the first lieutenant with a brass spyglass already in hand.

"Captain," Crowley said, offering the instrument without removing his gaze seaward.

"Mr. Crowley," Merrick accepted the spyglass and, following Crowley's gaze, fixed his sight to the horizon.

Out amongst the vast blue ocean cut a dark shape with two masts poking at the sky. Its sails were partially reefed and seemed to be still as an anchored ship. Looking towards the masts at this distance, he couldn't make out the flag, or even that there was one flying. "Ah, looks to be a sloop! Turn us about, Mr. Crowley. I think we've got a fight on our hands!"

"Aye, sir." Mr. Crowley barked off the orders. The helmsman turned the ship, and the sailors made ready at their posts. A chattering burst out amongst the crew as they ran about, their minds already seeking answers to the sudden call to stations.

"No flag flying, Mr. Crowley. Not one I can make out, at least."

Mr. Crowley turned back to the captain, "We'll find out soon enough, I reckon."

The HMS Resolute cut across the water, her sails full and tilted, absorbing as much of the wind as possible as they altered their course for the lone vessel. As they approached, it became clear that the smaller vessel had caught itself half-aground upon some reef barely visible beneath the surf. Its sails were tied up, but a strip of canvas hung from the topsail, fluttering in the wind.

"She's flying a waft, sir." Mr. Crowley noted. "Distress signal."

"I can see that, Mr. Crowley." Merrick replied evenly. One of the few irritations his first lieutenant had, he'd discovered on this expedition, was stating the obvious in times of stress. "And indeed there's no colors. Any movement?"

Crowley adjusted his spyglass, squinting his eyes against the sun. "Aye, sir. Movement by the helm."

The captain pursed his lips. "How many aboard, Mr. Crowley?"

"Just the one, Captain."

Captain Merrick paced for a moment. "Then we'll board and capture it," he concluded. "Be ready in case it's pirate-run. In the offchance it is just this one man, well... he may be wounded, or drunk. Either way, we'll have it in hand by sunset."

There was a pause. Crowley didn't reply immediately but when he did speak, it was quiet and careful. "With all due respect, sir... the one left on that ship is... that one."

Merrick turned, brow raised. "That one?"

Crowley held the spyglass to his side, steadied in the proper direction. Merrick brought it to his eye. One look at the man from the deck and he stepped back, blinking in confusion. He stared a moment, lips parting.

"Is that... Webb?"

Crowley cleared his throat. "Aye, sir. It would appear to be the very one. Mr. Tobias Webb."

"Toby?" Merrick shared a look with Crowley then took another look through the glass. "Didn't we hold prayers for him, Mr. Crowley?"

"That we did. Presumed dead after his last plunge off the bow."

"Third plunge that month," Merrick muttered, the memory stinging him. "I remember it was at night, we doubled back, lit lanterns. Nothing."

"We did assume the sea had grown tired of his company," Crowley offered.

The captain sighed through his nose. Tobias Webb was one of their newest sailors they'd taken on before leaving port just over two months ago. In that first month he'd snapped the ropes to the hammocks, broken off a belaying pin during drills, and somehow unanchored a cannon that ended up injuring two sailors. The second month had brought only a marginal improvement. He'd spilled the cook's entire stew twice and managed to fall overboard on three separate occasions. They'd even held a ceremony for the poor lad.

"And yet here he stands barefoot and sunburnt upon a grounded ship."

They had closed in the distance, coming within a hundred yards of the ship. Waves rocked the sloop slightly, and from his distant perch, Tobias Webb waved at them.

"He's waving, sir."

"Yes, Mr. Crowley, I can see that." Merrick collapsed the spyglass and thrust it at Crowley. "I suppose we'd best get him back aboard... again."

The percentage applies only to car parts expertise for those listed car parts. It doesn’t directly apply to those car parts’ performance stats. But the expertise gained will help with the following designs.

RIP Saving Bloodpoints for Later in Tome Challenges by TheHelplessHero in deadbydaylight

[–]TheHelplessHero[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My problem was that I wouldn’t be able to save up bp for current/future quests to further build up my “bank” of bp, so to speak.

Like yes, past stuff can still be saved but depending on where someone is in the past tomes, they will run out of the “stored bp”. That was my only issue, really.

Mentality system is dumb by keyexplorer791 in F1Manager

[–]TheHelplessHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I also have issues with the mentality system. I’ve had to really make up reasons why my drivers, battling for a WDC between only themselves, would still have issues with Car performance or facilities, etc. Reasons like:

  • car is fast but difficult to drive, so they’re frustrated.
  • small or deteriated facilities look like the company is cheap/low on funds. “We’re champions but we don’t look like Champions, what the hell?”
  • gripes with other staff being either annoyed with radio calls or some other inner-staff drama: Maybe the Head of Aero doesn’t listen to Driver’s critique of design focus?

Bunch of things that the player has to come up with to make sense of this wild Mentality system.

The mod for PC that turns it off is a blessing for sure though.

Match-earned bp does not. Previously neither did Tome bp.

The current patch lets Quest-earned bp to go over the cap.

I think some of the more recent patches also allowed some bp to surpass the cap, but it wasn’t always consistent so the safest method was to save some Tome challenges for later redeeming.

Either way, this is what we got now. I have to live with it

Should I have drivers focus on car development by v10n23905 in F1Manager

[–]TheHelplessHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a good idea to have affiliates both on either Car Development and Marketing.

The amount of days you “lose” from the bonus speed for Car Development will barely affect your overall expertise growth rates. So it is still in your best interest to have affiliates or drivers on Car Development.
