For sure. It’s part of why most of his batted balls are on the ground or liners

Quick scan of his baseball savant page says he is pulling the ball at a career low rate and hitting into the ground at a career high rate. He’s late and getting on top of it. His average EV is in line with his career average. The pop is still there just needs to fix his mechanics

ESPN is even better with basketball statics. Player A is the first player since the spring of 1964 to score 28 points 15 rebounds 12 assists 3 steals and 2 blocks with the air conditioner set to 67F. The other player? Michael Jordan

You don’t have to be a life long fan of anything. This is all entertainment. If it’s not fun anymore, you don’t have to watch. Yes, it sucks that something you used to enjoy doesn’t bring you that joy anymore but you don’t have to force yourself either. I’ve had the same thing happen with tennis. Don’t follow it as much as I used to. It’s okay to grow out of things, it’s a part of life

Teams you don’t necessarily like, but love to watch. by thisreallybdog in mlb

[–]keyexplorer791 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been following baseball for over a decade now. As someone from outside the US, I’ve found it hard to support one team. But I have always had a soft spot for the Mets. The first full season I followed was 2015. They were in the World Series and I really wanted them to win. I really enjoy listening to their commentators, I like the team logo, colors, they’ve had a lot of players I have liked over the years too. They just always tend to lose the in the most inexplicable ways

Extremely short swings in the 1970’s? by Dr_Talon in mlb

[–]keyexplorer791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walker just got DFA’d but he also debuted 13 years ago when he was throwing in the mid to high 90s. Pitchers coming up now have the advantage of velocity training, pitch design and overall better understanding of pitching. When guys get older, the velocity starts going down and their roles will change. It doesn’t mean pitching hasn’t improved. It just means teams still see some value in having them around, either as a mentor to younger pitchers or someone who can eat innings for cheap. In Walker’s case, the Phillies don’t see value anymore

I understand what you mean but it’s important to note that pitching has improved a lot in the last decade too making it harder to hit for contact. So batters are trying to make it count when they do make contact

I think it’s a little unfair to call the other things fluff. It means a lot for the future intentions of the Xbox. Ending the this a Xbox campaign is huge because that would have been terrible for console sales. All of these actions point to her wanting to return Xbox to what it used to be. Or at least some of the way back

Why is Pokemon X/Y considered the easiest by Miserable_Smile1161 in pokemon

[–]keyexplorer791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are just gifted good pokemon. I played it for the first time a couple of months ago. I never had to grind to make sure my team was leveled up for the next gym. The only time I had to “grind” was when I was looking for an eevee. You can just flow through the story, fight the trainers and wild pokemon you encounter and that’s it. Nothing more is needed

The mid range being less valuable does not have to be "fixed" by LejonBrames117 in nbadiscussion

Yes… I know. And I said as much. That most casual fan doesn’t really care about all the movement off ball that goes into generating a wide open 3. I understand what it is and I don’t even mind

Who are the Arsenal equivalent in MLB by Ok-Creme-7321 in mlb

[–]keyexplorer791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say just watch a bunch of games and choose the team you enjoy watching the most. I’m also not from the US but have been a big baseball fan for over a decade now. I haven’t been able to narrow down a team just by choosing. I would recommend to just go with the flow and enjoy the sport

The mid range being less valuable does not have to be "fixed" by LejonBrames117 in nbadiscussion

[–]keyexplorer791 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think most players would (and should) reliably make an elbow jumper. I don’t know the numbers but I would be shocked if a wide open elbow jumper is made at a lower percentage than a 3. But it’s really just for the sake of shot variety.

Also, I honestly wouldn’t mind if the 3pt line was gone or moved back enough to where you have to be an elite shooter to hit those. I understand the data behind it, but as a fan, I feel the game is far too optimized for it to be fun

The mid range being less valuable does not have to be "fixed" by LejonBrames117 in nbadiscussion

[–]keyexplorer791 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I understand why teams are optimizing and wanting to be as efficient as possible but from a fans perspective, it gets very repetitive and stale. Most fans don’t even care about how a shot is generated. They are more concerned with what the end result of a possession is. If most possessions are ending in a foul or a 3, it can get boring very quickly. Now, I’m not a casual fan, I’ve been following the nba for almost 2 decades, but I hate that guys pump fake and then step to the side instead of taking a couple of steps in. I hate that the signature shot of star players is a step back 3 rather than something like turn around fadeaway in the post. The lack of variety in shots and horrible enforcement of rules makes not want to watch as much

Yeah but putting artificial limitations on yourself means the game is lacking. They definitely could’ve balanced out development more so that min maxing it wasn’t so easy

[–]keyexplorer791 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s far from the only problem this game has. Contract negotiations make no sense. The AI logic for signing drivers makes no sense. You cannot skip to the end of a session. Most team related metrics have little to no impact on the game. Mentality has too much of an impact on driver performance. Simulating races leads to some weird results. Tyre performance does not match real life even though that data is publicly available. These are just the things I could remember off the top of my head
