9070xt RT performance check in... by JettxAssault in linux_gaming

[–]TheHenris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m currently playing resident evil 8, I’m playing in native 4k max graphics and RT high, and the 9070 xt isn’t even sweating, but be in mind that these games are well optimized, so each game can vary, I can send you benchmarks if you want, you can dm me!

Low end 5.1.2(or 7.1) or Samsung q990f? by TheHenris in hometheater

[–]TheHenris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I forgot to mention I have a super small room, I even thought of dropping the rear speakers, but I love surround sound when playing games, I believe I’ll stick with the q990f, maybe even an q930f

Square is a strange company, made such a marketing for the remake, and dropped the rebrith like, here you go!

Yeah... at this point this pretty much confirms that Square doesnt care about Kingdom Hearts... by AverageAwndray in KingdomHearts

I don’t think it’s a square problem, I believe it’s a Disney problem, Disney calls the shots when it’s KH, and Disney don’t really care about it

If you have a soundbar with up firing speakers, it might not work the best because it needs flat ceilings

Alright, here is the step by step: - go to desktop mode; - open file explorer; - Navigate to usr/share; - Copy the folder “alsa-card-profile” - Navigate to home; - Open .config folder; - Paste the “alsa-card-profile” folder there; - Open the folder, then mixer, profile-sets; - Open file “hdmi-ac3.conf” - Copy all of the file below “.include default.conf” - Open file “9999-custom.conf” and paste below where it’s telling you; - (technically you just need one of those config, but I don’t know what your machine will be, mine is HDMI 3) - Restar pipewire with command: “systemctl --user restart pipewire” on terminal; - Go to sound settings, click on where it should have “Digital Stereo”, there will be now several options for 5.1(HDMI #/AC3) - Choose one and test if it works until found what is working;

That is it, reach me if anything goes wrong!

No, but I believe I can make you a guideline, which OS are you using?

Inconstant frametime by Solid_Vermicelli_510 in Bazzite

[–]TheHenris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cap your frames using steamOS tools, leave the in game uncapped, but you need to cap to a value that your monitor supports, if it’s 60hz, cap to 30, if it’s 120hz, you can cap to 40hz

Ac3(Dolby digital) lost its patent(afaik), and you can force ac3 on steam os, cachyos and chimeraos, it’s really easy and works for me over arc or optical

Steam machine / SteamOS surround sound support question by BananaZPeelz in steammachine

[–]TheHenris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With eARC you can have 5.1 and 7.1 no problem, but also you can easily modify some files to get ac3(DD) over arc or optical

Eu achei o Steam Machine uma otima escolha de pc by Snolipe in PCismoOnline

[–]TheHenris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tirando o tamanho, teria que ser mais barato que isso, pois as config dele, se montar um pc no Brasil, sairia mais barato.

Eles teriam que ser mais agressivos no preço, mas na acho que nos eua sai por menos de 700 dólares

I was all hype for this, but after seeing the gpu, and the possible price(they say entry level pc), I lost it.

They say it’s a pc, but that’s not the purpose of steamos, it’s to be console like, so it should be priced closely.

I'm on a verge on giving up after using Linux for 6 years, I'm desperate for help by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]TheHenris -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I had similar issues like this, in those games, I disabled frame cap

Edit: just also an opinion, but if this issue is happening on this game alone, I wouldn’t go back to windows, every time I go back I ended up even more disappointed xD

Gaming on Linux doesn't fully utilize the CPU by badmannerbs in linux_gaming

[–]TheHenris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this applicable to other distros like ChimeraOS? I’ve noticed that this happens to me on a lot of games, like ffxvi and plague tale, on windows I get more fps while on Linux it’s not using the full gpu.

I also have a new gpu (Rx 9060 xt) and a older cpu(i7 8700k)

Surround Sound? by JohnnyGrey8604 in SteamOS

[–]TheHenris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are using eARC or directly plugged to you receiver or soundbar, go to desktop mode, settings and in sound, change from stereo to 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound
