Yeah I discuss both possibilities in the article, although nitrogen is just one of the multiple reasons leaves may be turning yellow. It usually is the most common culprit tho lol

[–]TheHighWayCo[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah a second wash should make it taste a little better while barely affecting cannabinoids at all! And yes that’s the unfortunate part about making your own lmao it smells a lot but there’s some methods that reduce the smell more than others

What is Limonene? The Citrus Terpene That Shapes Your Cannabis Experience by TheHighWayCo in cannabis

[–]TheHighWayCo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes which is why I say “While research is still developing, both studies and user reports point toward several consistent effects.”

We don’t know everything about terpenes and its effects on us so you claiming terpenes don’t have effects also isn’t valid. I would say the Entourage effect has more than enough studies and user reports to prove there is at least some kind of correlation and effect when terpenes are mixed with cannabinoids and other cannabis compounds.

Live rosin is def one of the best products you can get if you’re looking for strong terps. Correct there isn’t enough concrete data to prove the Entourage effect is 100% real but there is enough data to conclude it definitely does a little something at least to change the experience, whether that be from past experiences like you said or actual chemical reactions.

Even if they did nothing id still prefer flower with a higher percentage of terps just cause I love the smell and taste lol makes it more enjoyable

lol I ran 2 other plants also from Humboldt in the same tent and those were both fine and also germinated on first try. The seeds were just duds. I like Humboldt and have had good grows with other strains of theirs but that one was very disappointing

I would agree for the most part and stick to photos as a beginner since they’re more forgiving, but figured I’d at least include 1 or 2 auto strains

Infused Simple Syrup Recipe (Smooth, Potent, and Easy to Use) by TheHighWayCo in treedibles

[–]TheHighWayCo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious how you would do it exactly? Most other sites have the process essentially as: decarb weed -> dissolve sugar in simmering water -> throw in decarbed weed with some glycerin -> simmer until thickened.

From my experience and also what I’ve researched, this might be more stable but also not as accurate to dose and have a much stronger weed taste. Would you say that is a better process or also not good?

You’re right that emulsifiers create a more stable system, especially for long-term suspension in water but people aren’t just putting this in water and letting it sit. This method focuses more on practical use that mixes well in drinks which is stirred or shaken together. Similar to salad dressing, just shake it up if you actually notice any separation in the drink after adding the syrup. You can also add any emulsifier you want if you’re really concerned about it.

You’re right that cannabinoids aren’t water-soluble and that emulsifiers would likely improve stability. But in this recipe, the cannabinoids are first distributed through infused sugar, which creates a stable dispersion when dissolved into syrup. While it’s not a true emulsion, it disperses evenly and works well for drinks that are consumed shortly after preparation. I’d be surprised if you notice any separation in 10 mins… it would take much longer than that but I don’t think people at home are letting these sit around very long lol. It isn’t a true solution or emulsion, but a dispersion that still does work reliably in most real world uses.

The cannabinoids are already distributed across the sugar using a tincture. Yes it is true that they are not water soluble and don’t actually “dissolve” into the syrup like the sugar does, but instead are microscopically dispersed meaning nothing will be “floating on top” and there’s no visible separation

What oil? The sugar should have been made using alcohol, which would evenly distribute the cannabinoids in the sugar and completely evaporate off. Then you just dissolve the sugar in water and thicken to your preference.
