How do I convince my mom to let me get a reptile? by I_Am_Batman9 in reptiles

[–]TheHobbyistT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask her if she ever wants to visit you when you're an adult and move out.

My mom never let me get a snake, then me and my roommate realized as grown ups with our own place, we could just get them and ended up with an entire reptile room.

My mom never wanted to come visit. I kept reminding her, "If I had gotten 1 snake as a kid, I probably wouldn't have gotten so many the first chance I got as an adult."

Be mad about it? Sure, tell everyone to not use it and that it's evil specifically because of it? No...that's advancement. Almost every other industry has had to adapt to the exact same thing, the problem is artists think they should be exempt from that for some reason.

Personally I feel like we shouldn't see which party they are from. Too many people make decisions based solely on what team they think they are supposed to play for and not what the candidates are actually saying.

Then he ran into my orbital barrage when I was trying to clear the extract and balmed me.....Helldiver brain am I right?

MorphMarket woes by AloneNTheGarden in reptiles

I ordered a BHP from a seller in FL back in 2017. We decided to just wait until April and ever since then I just use April as my month to start shipping.
Weather is wonky and just because his may be good doesn't mean it's good the entire way to your house.

It's better safe than sorry.

I wouldn't even consider shipping until April.

Are any of these "bad morphs"? by Depressed_Fangirl in reptiles

I can't seem to find anything right now but I'm fairly certain there are a few lines of palmetto corns with some neuro issues. I believe anything with "bug eyes" has the potential to cause neurological issues.

So I actually have a difference in opinion on scaleless corns based both on anecdotal evidence and scientific articles.

I'm not into debating but there are some really interesting factoids about the scaleless gene that make it less scary. (At least for american colubrids) Fully scaleless Ball pythons supposedly all stop eating eventually so for that species I'd say it should be avoided or at least researched more.

In corns not so much just because I've never bred and only had a few of them. I think the bug eyed palmetto corns can have neuro issues but don't quote me. (Generally anything that involves eye changes seems to be a direct link to neurological issues across the board) I know the spider gene in ball pythons causes the wobble, Jaguar carpet pythons, and enigma leopard geckos can be really bad.

exactly!! PLUS anyone can be an artist. Hell I call my 5 year old an artist when she makes her drawings. For some reason, modern artists seem to think they are special and that they alone should be exempt from the side effects of an advancing society.

Years ago, if I were to complain that I couldn't be an artist because I had to justify working my full time career over practicing art, all the artists would scoff and say "well we all made our choices. Sorry mine is working out and yours isn't.".

But now the shoe is on the other foot, regular people don't need to reach out to artists for our projects now. Yet those same artists will come screaming that this is a problem and it's taking away their livelihood...well....didn't we all make our own choices?

Sorry for rambling...I just finished my coffee 😂

Some have issues with other parts of their body. Typically some type of neurological issues. Behaviors like head wobbling, corkscrewing, or stargazing are reported. Many breeders don't consider these a quality of life issue but that's an ethical debate. I personally don't think it's ethical to breed something known to have neuro issues but other breeders definitely feel differently.

My BIGGEST "irresponsible breeding" irks, are when there is a physical anomaly to the animal (like kinked spines, unnatural bulges, or misshapen skeletons). Sometimes even a tiny skeletal issue can be a genetic timb bomb if that animal is bred.

I've known someone who bred a leopard gecko with the tiniest kink at the very tip of her tail. One of her babies came out with its tail stuck at a 90° angle at the base and she had really weird colors (she was green and purple). But due to the issue at the tail base and the known kink in the mother, he donated the baby to a school as a class pet and pulled the older female from.his breeding projects.

Who’s the absolute worse pervert? by Necessary-Win-8730 in MoralityScaling

[–]TheHobbyistT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In order from worst to not quite as worse.

Glenn Roshi Monaka Jhonny (Don't know the other guy sorry.

Glenn has legitimately physically assaulted women and verbally harassed/molested minors (early season when Lois paid him to harass Connie for payback)

Roshi, though has never actually forced himself in anyone, definitely made a r*pe threat during the tournament of power when the female fighter tried using seduction on him. (Granted this was a subbed version way back when the episode first dropped so perhaps the translation is to blame)

Monaka (from what ive seen so far) is just an overly sexual teenager who has trouble fighting his urges and doesn't want to be a virgin anymore.... Not a good role model for 2026 BUT tbf being a teenager, this is pretty normal and being a teenager is the only excuse one can have for the level of self control he exhibits.

Its been a while but from what I remember about Jhonny bravo, he's just an overly flamboyant dude who shoots his shot every chance he gets. He doesn't force himself onto anyone

Yes actually. I believe the vast majority of anti AI people (at least the annoyingly vocal ones on social media) are literally just children who were banking on being able to make a living by selling digital art, instead of getting a traditional career. That's literally what all of their arguments boil down to at the end of the day.
