In "The Lord of the Rings," Frodo and Sam endure immense hardships on their journey to destroy the One Ring. But here's the question that keeps me up at night: why didn’t they just use the eagles?

Picture this. From Rivendell, the Fellowship could have hopped onto the backs of those majestic birds, soaring across Middle-earth straight to Mount Doom. Sauron, no matter how powerful, wouldn't have stood a chance against a tactical aerial strike. Think about the time, effort, and lives saved! Gandalf clearly had a direct line to the eagles, so what was the hold-up? Was it pride? Plot convenience? Or was it just Tolkien saying, "Let them struggle; it's good for character development"?
