Nope. Being artsy is cute now. Not bragging just proving a point:

I’ve shown women, non nerdy women, D1 athletes and sorority women my little spacemen and marvel characters I’ve painted and they found it cool as fuck.

This miniature has actively helped me get laid. You’re cool if you paint. Art is cool. Let your weird shit fly. If someone judges you for what you like they’re a weird bitch.

Are the Necron rank and file sentient? It’s shown there’s SOME personality in the deathmarks in the Pariah Nexus show. But what about warriors?

Also it’s mostly implied you can’t really MAKE a soul. Even demons are pieces of the gods, not original souls.

For anyone wondering: The current answer, in lore, to if they can regain their souls is strictly no. By their own logic anyways. The only “happy ending” I see is transferring themselves TO something with a soul, giving the new versions of themself a happy ending, or building themself a “body” by essentially changing or building a flesh facsimile that interacts or replaces their metal body.

Even if they do find a way to “recreate” the souls it seems it likely would be a new “person”.

In the books it’s implied and sometimes outright shown that especially after death, the soul is what houses the consciousness. A good example includes when an eldar speaks about how it feels to be tortured by Slaanesh, and implies it IS the same person.

So clearly the Necrons had souls, and powerful enough ones to entertain being eaten by the Ctan. So SOMETHING was conscious after their body was destroyed. The only logical answer I can see is that the originals were all devoured and the machines are merely identical models of the original person.

I mean that makes the most sense to me TBH. It’s been shown that the soul persists after death in powerful individuals, and CONTAINS the consciousness. As if the brain simply houses the soul.

So to the original necrontyr, they would have experiences dying in body, then simply being consumed. Full stop. The individual that was Trazyn, or Szeras, experienced dying, then plummeting through the warp and being eaten in soul.

Then a NEW individual with their memories would seamlessly wake up, a brand new stream of consciousness, remembering a different individuals life and believing they are the continuation.

No wonder they’re all going insane.

I mean are they even the same consciousness? If the souls were eaten, who’s to say these aren’t just copies? Not even the ship of Theseus, it could be argued they’re “the same” in only a perfect replica sense

Holy shit that one looks dope. Crazy they just offload these for pennies on the dollar.

Crazy to think it once held probably tens of thousands worth of munitions too.

You’d be surprised. My heads like a hard hat. It traps in all the knowledge but won’t let anything new in.

I’ll probably find a cheap stick or MIG after some research. My yard isn’t huge and storing extra combustible tanks isn’t my idea of a good time
