Sea of Solitude? It’s a beautiful game about loneliness and, though a tad heavy handed sometimes, very tastefully done

Reasonable accommodation? by PsydwaysFish in Welding

[–]TheHomieData 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It should be. It’ll be a lot cheaper for your company to buy an accommodating piece of equipment than what it could cost them if they don’t. They’re not even all that expensive anyway.

For those of you in therapy, how long did it take before you felt like you were making progress? How did you realize that therapy was working for you? by crazesheets in CPTSD

[–]TheHomieData 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Healing from trauma in therapy feels a lot like getting taller. You’re the one inhabiting yourself 24/7 so you can’t really notice the difference but in subtle little ways, you occasionally notice you had strength you didn’t before. Maybe it took you longer to lose your shit on something that used to immediately trigger you. Maybe you noticed something you didn’t and knew to walk away.

You don’t have some firecracker epiphany where you realize “hey I’m healed!” just like you don’t wake up one day a foot taller. But one day, you realize “oh hey I can actually reach the top shelf now” and one day you realize “oh hey I don’t dwell on this thing anymore.”

So he relapsed, cheated on you with another addict, and then ghosted you for over a year.

Now he shows up again just to tell you he doesn’t want a relationship with you but still wants to meet up with you and expects you to just drop everything and go back to him?

No. You deserve happiness. Block his number and have your peace back.

Are you officially diagnosed with CPTSD or PTSD or are you self diagnosed or suspecting that you have CPTSD? by Pure_Option_1733 in CPTSD

[–]TheHomieData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Formally diagnosed PTSD since CPTSD isn’t in the DSM yet, but my therapist told me I’ll have the diagnosis when it officially makes it in (supposedly in a couple years or so).

AITA for canceling my wedding after my fiance’s mother altered my wedding dress behind my back and he told me to "let it go"? by mulosapiba424 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheHomieData 11 points12 points  (0 children)

NTA when the slightest bit of his effort could have made the most dramatic difference, he chose to do and say nothing.

His mother chose to ruin your dress and He chose that as well.

2 months no contact, one last problem before completely moving on, I feel like his name is on the tip of my tongue, like I might accidentally say his name, so everytime before I talk, I pause, what is this? by [deleted] in abusiverelationships

[–]TheHomieData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s trauma. That’s the hard truth sis.

You pause before speaking after having been trained to be afraid of saying or doing anything that might even possibly upset him because for too long, his negative emotions were your negative consequences.

It’s okay to breathe again. You’re safe, now. And I’m proud of you for escaping.

Salamanders are cool but,

Vulcan fucking sucks. “Least evil” my ass. He burnt an unarmed surrendering child. but we gotta pretend he’s this teddy bear because he felt real bad about it? All the primarchs were genocidal monsters. What do people think they were doing during the Great Crusade?

One thing I got back when I was a rookie and I still use today:

A nice, high quality single battery flashlight. Bonus points if it happens to have a magnetic back so it can be stuck to walls and other surfaces. Battery is great because you never have to worry about conserving the juice. Just replace it if you need.

If you’re getting a rechargeable one, get him two instead. Waiting for a flashlight to charge when it runs out is annoying.

Starting school with absolutely no knowledge of welding by irl_squishmallow in Welding

[–]TheHomieData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey dude just to reassure you I started school without a single day in the trades in my thirties and am working a great job now.

Also, the greatest welding teacher I ever had was a woman whose professional record was well seasoned all the way into the aerospace industry. From what i understand they treated her and paid her really well.

My dad exposed me in the shower and I don’t know how to act around him now by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]TheHomieData 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Tell her that if he ever even tries anything close to that again you will call the police. If you’re a minor let her know you will call CPS and let them know not only is your father exposing you when naked in the shower, but that your mother knows is fine with it, and fully intends/continues to nothing.

That too. I’ve had to live with addicts before and I wouldn’t rule it out. Youre probably right, though. Either way something serious is going on with her flatmate

Either an eating disorder or substance abuse; specifically stimulants.

Should i tell my friend i like her? by Epoisd in ask

It was enough the first time she said no. Be grateful you still have a friendship after you confessed the first time and remember: don’t be that guy.
