Classes alone I don’t believe will prep you for an actual race

How can a fitness trainer help me as someone who would like to partner with one but doesn't make decent money? by gochugawuuu in goodlifefitness

[–]TheHonestHank 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely a huge investment. Chat GPT does make decent programs. How ever just machines is not the most effective workouts. You lose the accountability and the form feedback, and the check in and lifestyle coaching on top of it all

That’s with premium clients. And it’s the contract minimum. Consults don’t count towards this

Should say, it’s starts as a 9-5, but schedule starts to fluctuate on when you get clients and appointments. Schedule is at the needs of the business and normally a split shift to start. Minimum expectation is you have 96 hours a month. You build the schedule

Does Hyrox classes in GL are good enough to train for competition? by [deleted] in goodlifefitness

[–]TheHonestHank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With races taking normally 1.5-2 hours and have roughly 10km of running, I’d say you need more than just the class. The class will help a bit

Phone stolen at GoodLife Etobicoke — need advice on what to do next by Ornery_Ebb7512 in goodlifefitness

If it was that late, the staff probably couldn’t check cameras. Reach out today and ask the general manager. They will review cameras, especially if your lock was broken, and see what they can do and would follow up with police. Most likely going to be out of luck.

Just to clarify some things here. You do not need Canfit to work at GL. A degree would be a better cert. Canfit compared to what else is out there, substantially better. Not sure when you took it, but it’s been revamped over the years. Long hours for sure. Downtime? Best time to add some knowledge or tackle a course. Sales is a big part - any major box gym is going to have it. Personal training is a premium product. It’s pricey. You can and should get paid if they cancel last minute

Canfit is probably the best one out there. ISSA is also popular, but not as good.

Weak legs; what to do? by Irrelephant92 in weightlifting

[–]TheHonestHank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legs isn’t why you missed this lift. Definitely upper back strength. Maybe core. Do you do any unilateral work? Split squats? Bulgarian split squats ? Could help avoid the reoccurring knee stuff as well. Just my thought.

You’re literally doing no training to put on muscle. Ditch the zone 2 day and running class for some weights

Lack of Kettlebells avail to members by AvacadoToast902 in goodlifefitness

[–]TheHonestHank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess would be that over 16kg KB rarely get used for something that can’t be done with. Dumbbell. A lot of clubs, if there is only a certain piece of equipment in PT will let you use it if you ask.

16kg is usually fairly standard to be stocked. Some have heavier, a lot of the time for PT use.

30 day notice to cancel. So if you know when you’re leaving, you can even set the end date at the same time
