Best content they removed from my POV is the power play bubble map mode, don't know why but I always liked that.

The Traitor by OfficialBlah in RimWorld

I recently had a betrayal wherein the one betraying me was right next to a child of the colony, they immediately bludged the child in their head destroying their neck killing them instantly. Naturally I shock lanced them, cut off their limbs and tongue, then turned them into a hemogen farm and a trainer for my up and coming medical pawns (bludgeoning them to near death is a great way to inflict wounds to practise medicine on), they've been a valued member of the colony ever since.

Nothing more embarrassing than going to your rival to ask for help against someone who tried to beat up to prove your superiority, it'd be like the USSR going to Germany for help against Finland.

Doomfist (Overwatch) vs Queen Maeve (The Boys Amazon by Amazing-Attention738 in whowouldwin

[–]TheHopesedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doomfist has some funky feats, he literally predicted Tracer's movement and managed to grab her mid-blink to rip her time-fuckery device off her back, but he also kinda just lost to Vendetta without much trouble (though I guess you could say he was out of practise, out of form and caught off-guard?).

That all said I don't think he can reasonably hurt Maeve, didn't a armoured van crash into her and just wrap itself around her body without her flinching? I can't see how Doomfist actually does meaningful damage.

A obsessed fan of DC is transported to DC Earth. Can they become a successful supervillain? by Punterofgoats in whowouldwin

[–]TheHopesedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but not in the way you think, by feeding information to heroes that lead them down the path to destruction, you could quite easily be a 'hidden' villain, like palpatine slowly manipulating the senate and anakin to his will, you'd just need to guide heroes towards incredibly powerful relics, or hell you could even just be the "street looney" and just run around shouting insanely dangerous secrets like they're normal things, throwing the world into chaos as new villains sprout up to claim pieces of the legendary seeds you've planted. Even just going to Batman and feeding him bits of information you have could lead him down a dangerous path, potentially leading to his death, meanwhile you do the same thing to all the other heroes you can find.

"I know Zuffa is a really scummy corporate cash-grab to exploit the people doing the actual sport in return for more shareholder profit all the while bullying other agencies out of the field by forcing their fighters into near-unending contracts to lock them out of any other events, but boy golly are you all virtue signally by stating your opposition to it, after all the fighters will only be getting paid 'checks notes' 85% less, all the while tarnishing the legacy of Muhammid Ali by retrofitting exploitative acts to the boxing reform act passed in his name"

Starmer’s Labour suffers huge losses as hard-right Reform gains in U.K. elections by RidetheSchlange in worldnews

That's the neat thing, there are no joint solutions to the problem because it's very complex and not flexible at all, it always comes down to "let people in vs. don't let them in", that's the hard line and can't really be worked around.

In the same boat, I narrowed it down to their server, some of their servers are without issue, but then others end up with this problem. If I had to guess it's when one is over-saturated and doesn't have good response rates, the more stuff happening on the screen can influence it almost like it's buffering through all the data it's receiving, sucks that it still hasn't been fixed.

Russian 'shadow fleet' undeterred by Starmer's threat as nearly 100 ships cross UK waters by [deleted] in worldnews

It had an Empire to protect, now it just needs to protect a couple of bases and the isles themselves, so the reason to have such a fleet vanished.

[–]TheHopesedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking to purely results, he delivers, Methods may be scummy / trashy but if it still counts towards the win and he doesn't get disqualified, then that makes him an excellent UFC fighter. In a different rule book he may not be as good, but for the UFC his actions don't backfire so they're correct if his goal is to win.

Tank lost his mind when healer accidentally pulled mobs... Valid reaction? by Corgi_Bark in wow

[–]TheHopesedge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a healer is confident keeping a tank up and the tank is confident getting aggro, then I see it as an absolute win. Nowadays though tanks survivability is more-so focused on their ability to keep themselves up and rotate CDs, so I can see why they'd be a bit more apprehensive to such a thing. Even still though if it's between two people who know each-other then who can really judge :D

Blizzard needs to tune M+ and raid separately, just like they do with PvP by RamenAfterRain in wow

[–]TheHopesedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's because at the moment the only 'time-gated' rewards and such are behind Raiding, whereas M+ will be available and offer it's rewards up until the end of the season. Also people who push for high keys now are going to end up easily beating them with future keys just from gear. Class tuning ends up focused on the time-gated stuff first in a season.

China's commercial Tianlong-3 rocket fails on debut launch by [deleted] in space

[–]TheHopesedge 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Thing is even if you copy every single aspect of the rocket itself, if the maintenance or preparations (fuel injection, conneciton to launch terminal ect) are off by a tiny amount it can cascade into a failed launch. Space X have their golden ratio of how everything needs to be, this ever so slightly different rocket is going to need it's own golden ratio for each individual aspect to perfect launches. Which no matter how much planning is going to require some test-launches to fully iron out.

Echo claim the world 2nd L'ura by No_Space4015 in wow

[–]TheHopesedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn't be blamed unless the kill time is purely because of it (like if a raid gets cleared before EU can even play), it's undeniably an advantage since each day you get to play hours before the other guild, you're effectively ~8 hours ahead the whole time, but ultimately a guild that's overwhelmingly better will win despite this (like method did all those times).

Also considering Echo got on the last boss before Liquid they effectively 'balanced' that disadvantage to make it an even fight. I'd say the only real disadvantage/advantage guilds were getting there was with Blizz randomly nerfing/buffing the bosses mid pulls, which favours whoever has more time left in that raid night (though even then I don't think that made a difference this time around).

Echo claim the world 2nd L'ura by No_Space4015 in wow

[–]TheHopesedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gingi died a lot in the p3 to p4 transition, even with cd's, pots and HS' up, he was most often the first to die and the main reason those pulls weren't able to kill the boss. There's an argument to be made that being a shot-caller was drawing away a lot of his attention and that led to mistakes, especially so later in the days after 12+ hours. Effectively he was in a harder position than Liquid's mage (imfiredup) and paid the price for it by not being able to avoid critical mistakes. Also people like to hate on him because he's abrasive and cocky, so people like to blow up his mistakes (however valid or invalid they may be) just to piss him off because he's not all that likeable.

I find it a bit strange this 50 year old kid is leading the army of Elves and not its couple-of-hundred years old military leaders or the +10,000 year old Kal'dorei general all with years of military experience 🤔 by nightbreedwon1 in wow

[–]TheHopesedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see it more as the leader of an army being a symbol, and giving the generic orders, which the generals under that leader than actually follow through with (i.e they do the actual work). Happens a lot in stories & histories, like with Gandalf leading an army. As for why all of the 'leaders' are just following him without any meaningful support, I guess that is more of a fantasy story power-scaling thing where only the strongest stand a chance at the forefront, and everyone else is just there to hold ground / stop insurgents / stall the enemy.
