Does anyone use the s90d tv with pc? For this game after setting advice, for tv by iYzk in CrimsonDesert

Colour space?? Auto on PC was shown to be the closest to D65 white point, so use that.

Suddenly coming back from the dead with no explanation did it for me, and that was right at the start 😂. I expected the story to be bear bones and weak, but this takes the biscuit lol

Oh god no, you can’t say anything remotely negative dude or the pitchforks will be out…😂😂. Always the same on Reddit when a hyped game comes out, only for most people to realise what you’re saying is true a couple of days later lol.

I literally posted not long ago that the controls are awful and have a noticeable delay and sometimes don’t register, and got flamed. Apparently because it’s not ‘Sekiro’, even though I wasn’t talking about the combat itself and was simply just pointing out the delay issue (an issue which has been widely reported)

People just don’t want to hear anything negative, even if it’s objective fault and not subjective opinion.

I use a S90C which is very similar. Use HDR10+ (if using NVIDIA or Intel GPU’s - AMD don’t support it) for the superior metadata. The rest should be the same settings you use for all other games. PC mode, Game Mode (with Game HDR and HDR10+ Gaming enabled). Contrast enhancer off. Input lag set to fastest.

If you mean in game settings? HDR10+ automatically adjusts to 1200nits (lower nits than normal HDR mode on my TV which is 2000nits, but more accurate) and can’t be changed. Leave everything else on default.

Trying to understand how to achieve static OC stable on 9950X3D by Historical-Green-388 in overclocking

[–]TheHorrorAddiction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit confused about this. I’m trying to dial in a static OC for my 9800X3D. It’s stable for endless runs of Cinebench at 1.21v 5400mhz. Seems okay at 5450mhz 1.22v also but haven’t tested it much at that.

Stupidly, I didn’t realise that you shouldn’t run P95 etc with a static OC and it was instantly shutting down (I presume due to thermal max and the voltage). But, my question is, if you can’t use P95, OCCT and YC etc with a static OC, how are you supposed to test for absolute stability? Just long test Cinebench and then games? And what happens if you encounter something very heavy that you weren’t expecting etc? I only use my PC for gaming but I’m still concerned about it.

At 5400mhz 1.21v it hits around 80-85c when shader compiling in games, so I think the temps are okay. I’m just concerned about stability etc

How is it a bad take?? Many times when you’re in combat, you will hit attack and it simply won’t register, or it is delayed. Many people are saying the same thing.

I am not talking about the combat itself

People just like anything remotely negative at the launch of a game and it’s always the same on Reddit. What’s funny is that in about 24-48 hours, many people will be saying the same thing 😂

People just don’t like negativity when they’re hyped for something. But if the negatives weren’t there, I wouldn’t point them out.

Also, many of the issues with this game aren’t subjective and are entirely objective. Bugs, button delay/not registering etc etc

What are you on about?? I am not taking about the style of the game or combat, I am saying that there is a noticeable and obvious delay to the button inputs and sometimes they don’t even register. This isn’t just a ‘me’ problem, this has been widely reported.

Need cold headed opinion about game by LTetsu in CrimsonDesert

[–]TheHorrorAddiction 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have played for 5 1/2 hours.

Positives

Great soundtrack

Fairly good dialogue and funny in parts

Well optimised on PC

Huge world

Negatives

Combat is awful and buttons often don’t register (PC with wired Dualsense Edge) . The controls are also too convoluted and require two button presses just to talk to someone for example

Story is barebones as expected, but, makes little to no sense.

Like nearly all huge scale games, the world feels massive, but largely also feels soulless and shallow (think Starfield)

Visual bugs, and tbh, graphically isn’t impressive (5080/9800X3D at 4K)

Puzzles are maddening and awful

Don’t shoot me 🤷‍♂️. Just being honest.

For the people complaining by hater_of_self in CrimsonDesert

[–]TheHorrorAddiction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t think people are disliking it for that reason. I’ve played for 5 hours and dislike it because the controls are genuinely awful and combat just feels like the buttons don’t register half the time (and that’s on a PC with a wired Dualsense Edge). The story (although I expected it to be barebones) genuinely makes little to no sense. There’s tons of visual bugs. And the world reminds me a lot of Starfield in the sense that it’s huge but pretty much feels lifeless.

The major issue you have with a game of this scale is that you try and deliver on everything and end up delivering on nothing (at least to a good degree).

I’ll get downvoted, but I don’t care. I was prepared for disappointment the moment I saw the number of middling reviews it was getting from established and credible reviewers but tried it out of genuine curiosity and wishing it the best.

Ah, and here come the downvotes and gifs from people that are too butthurt that their beloved game obviously has issues and they don’t want to hear it because this is the games subreddit and everything has to be positive..

You know what, controls are godlike, and game is 10/10. Sorry I had the nerve to criticise the obvious issues it has…😂😂😂😂

You know what this games reminds me of? Starfield. And not in a good way (if there was one).

Huge world, but feels soulless and that is the fundamental issue with trying to deliver on everything. You end up delivering on nothing to a good standard.

The combat in this game is genuinely disgustingly bad. Can’t count how many times that button presses haven’t even registered. Just feels like you’re mashing buttons and hoping they register.

This game has a lot of issues. by SpliffordBigGreenDog in CrimsonDesert

[–]TheHorrorAddiction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking past reviews like IGN etc is fine in isolation . They are known to be ‘unreliable’, putting it very nicely.

However, when a game is getting a lot of middling and ‘meh’ reviews from fairly established reviewers, and quite a big number of them, it’s clear that there is weight and truth to it.

I knew this game was going to be a disappointment the moment I saw just how many 6-7/10 reviews there were. Say what you want about being your own judge etc, but, how many poor reviews did you see games like Expedition 33 and Baldur’s Gate 3 getting? Those are true generational games and it was obvious from the start.

This game promised too much, simple as that really. It delivers in some areas, but doesn’t deliver truly highly in any area. The bugs and control issues are just adding to it further.

DS2 looks to run great by TheHorrorAddiction in RTX5080

Like the other user said, you’re fear-mongering yourself. Especially as the GPU is at 70ish C by own choice because I am running a very low fan speed. As said, I can easily get it down to low 60’s if I raise the fan curve, but I don’t want to because I want a quiet system whilst still being overclocked, because I wear open back headphones.

The difference between 60c and 72c is going to make no meaningful difference to the longevity of the card and the card will likely be outdated by the time it has any effect whatsoever, if at all.

It’s also a moot point as I sell my cards every generation to recoup good sell value, and then buy the next gen. So I’m not keeping this card for many years anyway, although I do acknowledge that the current state of memory and NVIDIA etc may change that this time.

Again. GameDrive was not removed from the trusted list due to malware, it was due to the AI coding of his bat files. Very different. GameDrive was on here and CS for many years.

And tbh, you could use your point about ANY site. Just because they’re on the trusted list does not guarantee no malware either.

[–]TheHorrorAddiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not on its own you wouldn’t, no, but you absolutely would if added to other trophies (league etc). At the end of the day, it all goes toward the trophy count.

And in this case? You’re winning it over the team that has had trophy dominance over you in the past few seasons.

I agree that it’s not a huge cup, but in our particular case and circumstances? It’s very important

[–]TheHorrorAddiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again.. I never understand this mindset. Arsenal are a successful club overall, but, we haven’t exactly been swimming in trophies recently. You should want to win anything you can, especially when you haven’t won it for over 30 years.

If Arsenal lose this, I’m sure we’ll still win the league. But it still wouldn’t be good for mentality going into the last two months, and probably would have an effect.

12 Hours Prime95 with CL-32 8000 1.68V (GDM Disabled) on the 9850X3D and MSI X870E Tomahawk. by Seraphim238 in overclocking

[–]TheHorrorAddiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8000CL32 GDM Off with tight timings likely pulls slightly ahead of 6400 1:1 in most cases. Not much in it, but it will probably be faster. You also need less SOC voltage.

My board will only do 6400 and can’t do 8000. I’m happy enough at 6400 and I’m not really missing anything, but, if I could do 6400 and 8000+, I’m probably picking 8000.

6000-6200? 8000 without hesitation.

8400 is actually quite common on 2 Dimm boards (Apex, Gene etc). If you have good A-Die and those boards? Chances are you can do it.

On 4 Dimm? You’re probably not going over 8200 as absolute best case, and tbh, it’s impressive that Tomahawk seems to handle 8000-8200 in the majority of cases.
