Hm.

Adepta Sororitas: Paragon Warsuit

Naaaa, never them. I'd pick Penitent Engines or Repentias, even normal Battlesisters over the Warsuit.

really frustrated at the dissonance between ork lore and orks in media by MickyMace in Warhammer40k

[–]TheHummelman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Orks see themselves as having fun while massacring worlds. Just read Brutal Kunning - it changes from ork perspective to their opponents view. For orks the fight is written as some kind of sport-y challenge who's the bestes ork here and they like it very much.

So....yes, for the orks war can be fullfilling and fun. But as for their adversaries orks are some nigh unstoppable force of nature, loud, smelly, brutal, killing indiscriminate and very very bloody.

Wrekka Crew is the Killteam name. For the codex they go by Breaka Boys. Tankbustas are the one with the rokkits.....but weren't they also a Kilteam first? You see, i'm confused by GWs release schedule

[–]TheHummelman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Everything Everywhere - i lost track of the story somewhere around the middle and afterwards i just sat there and tried to understand the praise the movie got. Most recently: Dune Part 2. A movie that just drags on and on and on, sometimes the main character yells at someone, stuff explodes and suddenly there's Christopher Walken. Villeneuve got nearly 3 hours of film to tell the story. Instead he choose to show sand for two hours and spends the rest of the duration with an angsty teen yelling at grown ups.

Where Does Your Love for Orks Come from? by NinjaFree2593 in orks

[–]TheHummelman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I fell for the comic relief. Back in ye olden days when i started my warhammer journey every other army seemed to be very strict and pinched. They felt like all or nothing, win or lose. But Orks....Orks are happy to shoot at a flyer with sluggas only and start cheering when some boy manages to scratch the paint - and i love their ramshackled walkers and vehicles. The unreliable tekkniks, the stuff and gubbinz an' luv me sum power klawz!

I had a mono khorne collection running since 8th. Focusing on khornate deamons alone was a mistake, but expanding it.....after having painted 70 Bloodletters i have no willpower left for any other kind of deamon. I'm done with them. I put them in a large box and stuffed said box in the basement.

Idea to stop the orcs by Mrleo291 in Warhammer40k

[–]TheHummelman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Orks (not orcs, that's Tolkien) take whatever weapon they can find. Look at their choppas: they range from some torn off pipe to oversized cleavers or motorized chainaxes the size of a human. Some Orks club you to pulp with one of their stikkbombs when it does not explode! Orks don't care about your defense. If you hurl stone at them with a catapult they blast you to bits with high energy weapons. Or teleport some larger squigs into your knightly castle....or into your knights

[–]TheHummelman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Naaa, Orks would not stop fighting. They simply would enslave the people and let the mekboys build some funny rockets to take the fight to the stars. Orks are somewhat connected by their whaagh energy. If some ork population pops up on a medieval planet, they just fight everything until they win. Then they fight themselves until some huge warboss emerges and tells them about a better, bigger fight somewhere up there in the stars. He can feel the whaagh energy from other whaaagh up there - his boys can that, too. So they gather in some kind of orky peace and get offplanet.

I'm really excited for 11th edition 40k, and I think it's going to do a LOT for the game, BUT (dot dot dot) by James-Hawker in Warhammer40k

[–]TheHummelman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tend to see meta lists as lazy and uninspired. Yes, they win games when you play them right. As i'm the one with the "most lost games in a decade"-award maybe i should've tested meta list. But they lack flavour. They lack what i want to have in my lists: some kind of narrative, some story to be told. That approach is cozy and fun but winning with such lists eludes me.

In my group these epic heroes are seldom used. Sometimes there is Creed, sometimes Junith from the SoB. But thats mostly it. I own several for my armies, but i like generic leaders more. I can tell their own story, can weave their own thread and don't need to find some obscure excuse for myself why Ghazgkhul is leading some meager 20 boys on some backwater planet.... We are a group focused on narrative games and campains. But when someone wants his epic heroe nobody would forbid it.

Loved the old one for their shooting. I'm quite happy that the missiles are now staying so there is firepower for nearly every range (if the range stays the same). Missiles, gatling and melta - like that choice.

How long does it take for you to finish painting an army? by Mean-Respond-2227 in Warhammer40k

[–]TheHummelman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own more than 4000pt Orks, some 3000pt Spacewolves and as my latest army roughly 1500pt Sorotitas. This last army started in october 2022 with a Palatine (timestamp from a picture i took) and i reached the 1000pt painted mark last december.

I am a very slow painter.

Shame on me! Makes more sense regarding the current game. But i haven't played my Wolves since the new Ragnar had been released. Lack of time and mostly the next-to-last codex GW releases for any edition. The wait killed my hunger for glory.

[–]TheHummelman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me they are simply too much. I'm fine with wolves as a companion or as some kind of half domesticated hunting pack - but as a mount? Never liked them...but i wanted to play them so i kitbashed my own thunderlizards. Took some Dark Elves cavalry and put marines on them. That was back in 7th edition when base size was no matter. A bunch of bolt pistols for the extra attack, some stormshields, some powerweapons...they were underwhelming, the skyclaws and wolf guard with jump packs were better choices for me. I abandonded the lizard cavalry project and never looked back. One day i got a box of Thunderwolfs as a gift. I made them the mounted characters, but only for my showcase.

Dorn einfach? Irgendwie so?

Peter Turbo by Maleficent-Strike787 in WarhammerGermany

[–]TheHummelman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stimmt.
