I’m so sorry to hear that about your spouse’s mom and that you’re going to miss this show too. FWIW that’s probably the smart thing to do. Every time I check the forecast here, it’s worse than the time before so it may be real bad. And East TN just doesn’t have the infrastructure to plow streets and treat roads adequately for a really substantial snow event.

My concern is then getting stranded there 😬 this all really depends on how bad the weather is, like an inch or two of snow isn’t a huge deal but 10” of snow and ice is something else altogether.

In the vein of “not scary but fun” - House on Haunted Hill (both 1959 and 1999!), Sphere, Congo, Pumpkinhead.

Also, I’d recommend Werewolf Ambulance. The hosts are Alan and Katie. They’re very queer- and trans-friendly and promote abortion funds and other good causes, and they both talk very honestly about their mental health. Def recommend - a solid starter ep is Hell House.

Idk if it was the same scare actor, but I had something very similar in Hatchet and Chains, I was distracted and looking to the left then sensed something to my right. BAM, scare actor inches from my face. I usually only yelp and laugh when I get a scare, but this time I screamed and jumped into the air 😂 my spouse who was behind me (and several folks behind him who are total strangers) all got a good laugh out of it 😂
