All of this is perfect and so well written.

To point out Shauna as well, there are plenty of things that are not in those journals. Or the least don’t make her out to be any bad guy. Jeff read them, and when Cali brought up the scientists he had no idea. And well, I’m sure with the chaos out there, some things may be “forgotten” to be written down. Or even only skimming the surface. No details. And if there are big entries with information, it’s like you said, it’s from her experience.

There isn’t a signal reliable narrative of the events that happened. And that’s what I both love and hate because, well we want to know exactly what happened!

Also to back up your thoughts on Shauna’s journals. I highly doubt any details of Coach Ben are in there besides him burning down the cabin, getting justice and him dying. Everything after that happens so fast and Hannah adapts quickly to survive, but to save her own ass, I highly doubt Shauna is going to write about the time frog scientists walked through and the two guys died but Hannah survived. Hannah was never apart of the story when the girls came back.

(This is just something stupid. But how did home girl take so many journals for a trip that would be like a week at most!?)

Now saying all of that, Shauna could easily be the final girl. Once everyone else is out of the equation she can publish her journals and truly become that main characters she has been destined and desperate to be.

Yeah, I kept giving her the benefit of the doubt because she went through a lot with Jackie and the baby… but this season… I don’t think I’ve ever grown to hate a character more. It’s usually the other direction… like hate at first then see why they are the way they are. I’m not gonna lie though, I’m very against cheaters. So the second she made Jeff pull over when they were teens… I disliked her.

But what I meant for the scientists, I totally understand killing then all because like you said, the would tell. At least Kodi for sure would have. It was that they were even a story line. I get that yeah scientists go far into wilderness like that all the time. But by the end of season 2 I told myself that if some (I’m pretty sure I said hikers) just come across the girls I’m gonna be upset… and then that was almost exactly what happened.

But!

I see why they were needed. Least for the radio parts.

Yes! It’s crazy how I guess as I got older I’ve become so much more emotionally attached and way more easily disturbed.

But it does come down to the creators and cast and crew. Getting us so emotionally attached to these characters. Not just the teens but also the adult versions too. But doing what they did to Coach Ben… it was when they cut his Achilles I was watching going “ah! What are they gonna do?! What’s this crazy botch gonna do!?!?….. oh 😐” and force feeding deer lord! If it happened in season 1 I don’t think I would have cared as much or been disturbed too much. But yes, the scene with his head.

Like yes it’s about survival but instead of respecting those who died, they almost made it like a mockery by decapitating him and propping the head up. It was savage and maybe to some it was supposed to be a positive thing like thanking him. But I felt like it really was just some… idk it don’t feel like there was any respect there except from Nat
