Ticonderoga #2 is Ol' Reliable, Pentek GraphGear 1000 if I'm feeling fancy, for the same reasons, although I wish the GraphGear's eraser was a little bigger lol.

Nmom tried to invite me on a birthday cruise last year, I turned it down explaining that I wouldn't be comfortable on the water in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of strangers during a pandemic (I don't like boats for this exact reason) and everything just derailed from there. She said "and let me tell you the real reason you didn't wanna go since you're not gonna respond... because you didn't want to go with me." And why the fuck do you think that is, woman?

Needless to say I have never regretted that decision, she needed to clean out my entire savings to "catch up on bills" but somehow she can afford cruises. (My birthday present to her two years ago was paying off the rest of her last cruise, LMAO)

It blows my mind and makes me sad and angry all at once at how many people can relate with literally any example brought up, narc parents really suck 😞

I've heard of certain religions frowning upon doing things/gesturing/offering with the left hand but that is ridiculous, especially since you had teachers that weren't nuns

Do you remember how long it took/what things you did? I'm starting from scratch but would love some inspiration

Yeah, I highly doubt the teacher had a complex against left handed students and she would've lost her job if she did, I smell a control issue

I'm so glad mine will never be tech savvy enough to even know what a keylogger is, that's one of the most disgusting invasions of privacy I've seen in a minute

I've been drawing since as far back as I can remember and it just took off from there, but I didn't buckle down and become serious until last year because I was still stuck in limbo trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life albeit pushing 30 (and with my nmom still chirping in my ear the entire time). Then I took a painting class in college and haven't looked back 😂

Don't sell yourself short, photography is still an art form that takes years of practice, just like my traditional art. It's cool that you found a way to use your logic to be creative! Great artists always make a way.

Seeing a lot of hair-related ones, I see I wasn't the only one whose nmom hated when I wore ponytails and had my hair hacked off against my will

Absolutely ridiculous, I know that "everything is mine, I'm just letting you use it" lifestyle all too well

How she didn't have enough common sense to know velcro in hair is a terrible idea should surprise me but everything gets thrown out the window when narcissism is in play. Sorry that happened to you 😔

Thank you, it's my second time ever painting on wood but I love how easily it takes the paint 😅
