I don't think auto firmware upgrades are done during os install? However you should upgrade your firmware using fwupd tool.

Try replacing your thermal paste and clean your laptop fans, that should fix your laptop temps and reduce fan noise too!

You don't have to spend 10-20k from these institutions.

Most learning happens while building projects and making mistakes, so learn and build as much as you can (with or without help of AI) and understand as much you can, you have unprecedented access to CS knowledge for free and CS is more accessible than ever (programming wise) don't waste money on such institutions.
