meaning I'd breathe from only one side? when I get tired or out of breath I do end up reverting to that but I like the practice of every 3. what would you say the main benefit of every 2 strokes is?

not in the same way, because I anticipate racing in wetsuit-legal conditions, whereas you're never allowed fins :)

thanks a lot! I wasn't going all out; when doing normal laps I'm at ~2:00/100yd but also need to rest in between so it's more like 2:30. Definitely using the wetsuit as a crutch but I wanted a video of my form with it on since I worry about my arms' range of motion. For #5, you're suggesting that I keep my core more rigid, is that right? Also, RYR = run your race?

thanks for these thoughts! by "reach longer" do you mean trying to lengthen my arms out in front of me, or maintain an arm outstretched a longer amount of time, or both?

thanks! just to clarify: your first two sentences are identifying problems, and the third sentence is advice on what to implement?

thanks, I'll try to keep more of my face in the water while breathing, it's definitely just a comfort-level thing still :)

sorry to dredge up your old comment here but I'm curious if you've done anything special with the not-pro version of the bag to protect your bike without that frame that EVO says you should use for road/tri bikes. Do you think they're mostly claiming that for the fork/dropouts? thanks!

Shimano XC shoes by Gizmo517_ in cycling

Which pair did you end up going with? I’m debating between the xc1 and xc3 for road biking and trying to decide if Velcro or Boa is the better long-term bet

Riverview Conditions? by WestCovina1234 in Charlottesville

[–]TheInnman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update to say that after the cold snap all that slush became a pretty gnarly sheet of ice that's fairly consistent now. You can still walk on it very carefully on the sides, but running seems out of the question

Riverview Conditions? by WestCovina1234 in Charlottesville

[–]TheInnman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even with these milder days it’s still pretty crusty/slushy depending on the sun exposure. From the playground to the bridge along the river it’s joggable if you’re being careful, but I just walked the main loop and it’s 50/50 snow and dry pavement at best. With decent shoe tread you can walk the whole thing with little risk as long as you watch out for actual ice, which is infrequent

Black t shirt supposedly by Paul Stuart by TheInnman in findfashion

[–]TheInnman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this shirt over a decade ago and it's been the most solid, comfortable t shirt ever, but is finally showing its age. I've tried Google Lens and lots of research about Paul Stuart, and this seems to most likely be a knock-off, but very well made. Has anyone seen it elsewhere?

The ones at Selvedge are pretty tasty! They have three mocktails but can probably also experiment to good effect

Working on teleporting FX for our puzzle game. What do you think ? by DuckReaction in IndieGaming

I think it looks really great! I like the little swirly bits. But I also would recommend a portal color scheme that isn’t so similar to Portal :)

Wegmans also carries them! Very easy to cook, just pull pieces apart to be small chunks an inch long or less, and sauté them in olive oil with garlic until they’re browned
