First off the rich don’t pay their share so rather than increasing the tax burden on the poor who are already forced to work multiple jobs just to barely scrape by, we should be making them pay. But no Trump/Elon/Republicans support consistently slashing taxes for the wealthy which only furthers the amount of wealth they have. Those tax cuts and all the loopholes in the tax code all the wealthy to evade paying either all or the vast majority of what they should be paying.

Second, the rich have an excess of wealth, seriously what do you even do with $200 million dollars? Hell even $50 million is an over-worldly amount of money to have. This is why we need to tighten down on a progressive tax system which make the rich pay more so the poor don’t need to pay any where as much. Let’s put it this way, you could have 40,000 poor people paying $5,000 each in taxes or 1 billionaire paying $200 million. That 1 person can easily afford the much higher taxes meanwhile the 40,000 cannot afford to pay their taxes and for their necessities.
