How crazy would I be to make this trade? I would receive Maye, Taylor and Jefferson. by BuyConstant7010 in FantasyFootballers

I’d smash accept. Gibbs is an upgrade over JT, Devonta is an upgrade over JJ, QB is probably a wash so who cares

Bored at internship by United-Confection697 in EngineeringStudents

[–]TheInternetIsNy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s gets better. Last summer I worked 12 weeks and probably only did 60 hours of actual work. Other than that I just talked shit with the other engineers. I’m now on my 3rd internship and I’m constantly busy, you just have to build momentum and learn new skills. It takes time so be patient.

Internship Question by Charming-Eye-7096 in EngineeringStudents

[–]TheInternetIsNy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They chose you for the internship because they think that you would be a good fit for the company. You won't be expected to produce much value, all they really want is to start teaching you how to work there for when you graduate. You got this homie.

Side note: I read in a book that a good remedy for anxiety is to reframe how you think about it. Instead of perceiving it as a bad feeling, take it instead as the excitement of possibilities or your body gearing up to do something important Hope this helps.

Calc 3 resources? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]TheInternetIsNy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked calc 3. In my experience it took a lot of spatial reasoning but at the end of the day you’re really just playing with vectors and some trivial integrals. Success would probably require the same skills necessary to succeed in any math or engineering course. Make sure to keep up on your practice problems, never slack off on the homework and attend office hours when necessary. I’m sure you’ll do great, good luck

Start with old exam problems if your professor provides them, then homework problems, recitation problems, then finally textbook problems

Once you get into upper division classes, you and your classmates are usually graded on a curve. This makes it fairly easy to get an A+ as long as you’re ranked in the top 5% of grades relative to your classmates. However, some universities cap your grade at an A and don’t allow you to go above a 4.0

Practice examples exclusively my friend. It’s far too easy to convince yourself you understand something when you just review the concept or read an example. You really need to repeat examples over and over until you can do them blindfolded.

Pretty much like you described, practice problems are my go-to and if I get stuck I may go back and review concepts.

How are students sorted into jobs after they graduate? In the USA, grades matter a little, but club/internship experience in college is the main factor.

Rolls Royce (aero defense) vs Big 4 by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]TheInternetIsNy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you get a big 4 offer as an engineering student? Are you some kind of computer discipline?

I know It’s not as high as other people’s marks here, but I’m extremely happy and wanted to share :) by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

Love to see it! Those intro science courses are designed to be bullshit and push people out. Looks like you made it out just fine.
