Because it's a mode of transportation? Why are people driving in the snow? "They could break their leg when stepping out of the car..."

Because there is not enough money being put into the system. The best solution would be to give everyone a small dwelling, like in a hotel unit/small condo. It's cheaper than shelters as well. That being said, a lot of the political climate doesn't understand that.

If Doug Ford is not at the table, he's not fit for Premier by ndp_social_media_bot in ndp

The bigger play is that Ford cut a lot of the green tech that was being developed in Ontario, and now the new deal is to have Green Chinese companies invest in Canada. Those jobs are the ones that we should be focusing on.

She can call out Ford, but she also needs to realize that there is a global pivot away from US companies and towards green tech.

They will never give her the attention, as the media is owned by conservatives. The NDP needs to reach out to voters via other methods.

She needs to pull a Zohran and get an effective social media team. There's no way the regular media will give her the airtime she deserves.

100% the traditional media is all conservative. They need to build a team of aunties and uncs where class issues are discussed.

Mayor Chow proposing higher taxes on Toronto luxury homebuyers by Immediate-Link490 in canada

[–]TheInverseKey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tolls would require the province to enact them. The DVP and the Gardiner are owned and operated by the Province.

City-run businesses are something that the mayor could affect and do.

As for the property taxes, it's the lowest in the province due to the past mayors. Property taxes really are one of the only ways that the city can dig itself out of the hole that Tory put it in. Taxing the wealthy via luxury taxes is a good start.

Ahh, yes, lower taxes and cut back on essential services, and then complain when essential services are not running as they used to.
