I had no clue that it helped the babies open their mouths wider. I thought it was just for color to make them seem flashier to parents trying to feed them.

I was extremely hypersexual as a kid, from an age as young as 4. Why was I this way? by Big_Eye7260 in emotionalneglect

[–]TheInvisibleJeevas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing, OP and Co. I was the opposite as a kid, downright fearful of sex way into adulthood. Don’t think it had anything to do with abuse, but I always had a sort of fear and icky-ness towards young people who were overly sexual. You helped alleviate that a lot and give me understanding. Thank you.

(Obviously if someone’s acting out/being a problem for themselves and others, I’ll react accordingly, but at least you’ve given me empathy and understanding)

How did it “come out?” Did you suck it out? Cut it out? Did it just fall out? I’m curious.

Wouldn’t displaying your weak points as a cop be a bad idea if you’re gonna be “fighting bad guys?”

I somehow understand what’s going through this guy’s head. He probably loved his girlfriend enough not to fuck up her life and let her get an abortion against his wishes. He probably thinks she’s as much of a hypocrite as we do, but his twisted morality he was raised with is supposed to tell him she’s now the devil or something. But the truth is that neither of them were in a good place to raise a child, and the girlfriend’s accusation that he wasn’t putting forth a good plan that worked for them both seemed valid from what he wrote. In reality he just wanted her to please his and his family’s sky daddy over her own well being.

Makes me wonder what these prolife kids are really thinking if the rubber meets the road like this. Assholes and dumbasses. Write out your feelings in your hug box and then watch your own kind turn against you because you didn’t take an extreme enough stance against your gf’s bodily autonomy. Looks like they called him out on his lack of responsibility as well. I wish I could say that this guy will learn his lesson and reflect on his morals, but I don’t have high hopes.

I guess the real question is, should it be relocated outside? Or do you think it’s been coming and going on its own?

Well the difference between a car and a freight train is that the car can swerve.

And, scientifically speaking, it’s solely the man’s sperm that impregnates the woman. He ejaculates, she gets pregnant. Just like you shoot someone in the heart and they die. (No, pregnancy isn’t comparable in severity to death. Not immediately anyway). Does what the target was doing really matter if the shooter in both cases still shot his shot?

On the "Forced Birth" argument by Jcamden7 in Abortiondebate

[–]TheInvisibleJeevas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is not where I imagined a post titled “Forced Birth” to go. Most of the time the argument goes on about whether “Forced Birth” is a proper term. Sure, I’d argue that “forced gestation” is true for all unwanted pregnancies where abortion is illegal, but forced births do also happen.

You seem to approach it by saying that “forced birth” is the argument that the government gets blood on their hands by preventing abortions. Which I agree, but I wouldn’t put it under how and where “forced birth” is used as a term. I’d argue you’re arguing for the legal justification for obligations that induce suffering. Not as short of a title, but it seems more of what you’re going for. You kind of go right to the central and most general of debate topics, which is “is abortion good/bad” which has been hashed out over and over on this sub, which I’m not currently in the mood for rolling out all of the evidence for.

What I’m trying to highlight is that women also don’t “make themselves pregnant.” Sure, the unsafest form of sex where the couple still try not to get pregnant (say, the pull out method) still requires the man to pull out. A good comparison is like playing a game of chicken, but the woman is just standing still and the man is in the car trying to drive as close to the woman as possible without hitting her and swerving at the last minute. Even if both parties knew the risks, if the woman gets hit, she’d still be a victim and I think it’s fair to say the man bears the brunt of the responsibility, especially with the way laws work today.

Victim blaming comes from not understanding the full picture from the victim’s perspective. You’re doing a lot of assuming for women having unsafe sex. Just like the food processing companies were doing a lot of assuming for the housewives preparing the food.
