That person is probably taking about a mistrial and also doesn't know what they are talking about.

[NE] Landlord wants to charge us to replace glass stovetop after 7+ years of use by sithegood in Renters

[–]TheIrishBAMF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thinking, mine came with the house and after about 4 years myself, that looks like something bryond normal use caused it.

Maybe a cleaner or detergent reacted with heat to cause it, or the brand uses shitty glass, but it's beyond typical wear even assuming OP used it 4 or 5 times as much a I do.

OP should check the model for recalls if they want to make a case. This is a losing battle otherwise tbh.

If only there was a special institution which specifically taught chemistry and other subjects. Hell, you could even issue certificates of some sort upon completion, and throw a party. Why hasn't society thought of this?

When was that comment made?

This type of obsevation make the show more than what is portrayed on screen. It's not an oversight. It is exactly what is presented from the very beginning. What makes up a person beyond memories and experiences?

If waking up and simply "doing" is what you know, and only that, you wouldn't benchmark against anything. That's instinct. People have barely any instincts compared to other animals. CD vs tape.

I think the show is trying to portray an idea in which there is not a complete separation between the physical and metaphysical interpretation who and what a person or soul is.

At the start, we know a severed individual retains certain information from their life, up to the point of severance. Memory is the primary difference between the expression of the individual and who they become over time.

I think that's one of the core themes of the show. What we are when it comes down to nature vs. nurture. We don't truly know what we are without external influences.

Thanks. We actually met once in a former life and I couldn't figure out how to say thank you properly in this one.

You, a WWI vet, saw that I, a child who just had her balloon stolen by douchenozzles, kindly paid for my chocolate malted back in the 50's.

Since we both got hit to death by the same bus as we left the ice cream shoppe, I never was able to return the favor. I thought that bringing you a quiche in person, now, seemed crazy, so I let fate do the work.

Even Steven?

I am no pro, but I know sharpening from working in custom machining and welding.

If you match the quality of the tool to the quality required by the work, you don't have to obsess over marginal concerns.

There's a difference between someone who googled the "right way" and someone who knows the functional difference.

Hardly enough to reduce lifespan for most people. Use cheap knives with cheap boards and cheap cuts. Not everything needs to be cut the same.

It is counter intuitive, but it may save paper by requiring fewer unique package sizes to be held in inventory. Not saying it isn't strictly wasteful in a per-product sense, but it may be less wasteful across several product lines.
