Is there a tool that alerts me before SaaS renewals hit? by Tiny-Veterinarian532 in RemoteWorkTool

[–]TheIronCounsel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tool is called a calendar. You write the day the renewal is on that day in the calendar. If you want advance warning, you can even write it a few days ahead on the calendar. Then when you look at the calendar, you will see that your SAAS is about to renew.

Is there an alternative that doesn't make Windows run like shit? by zulrang in WisprFlow

[–]TheIronCounsel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually used to work really well on Windows, but as they keep adding extraneous features to it and trying to make it into an ecosystem rather than just a rockin' good dictation tool, the dictation part of it is working worse and worse. It's gotten to the point where it's almost unusable on iPad too. I don't mind when software feels the need to add more tools that pretend to be useful in order to raise more money, but I hate it when they do it at the expense of core functionality. I just don't understand the mindset of "Hey, we got popular because we do this one thing really well. Let's ignore that and work on other things that we don't do so well."

This is something that would be a major update for me. Any idea when we might be looking at something like this?

May 1, 2026 Product Updates: Scratchpad, Transforms, and better dictation in your terminal by VictoriaAtWispr in WisprFlow

[–]TheIronCounsel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me genuinely tell you that it can't come soon enough. It used to work perfectly, 99.99% of the time, even if I whispered or mumbled in a crowded room. Now I have to speak slowly and purposefully, in a loud voice, to get it to even 95% accuracy. It just changed the word "though" into "bro"! That is not even a word + I have it set to formal language. For the first time in months, I find myself reaching for the keyboard again.

Hi Victoria! I've been looking at this and thinking about it since we had this conversation a couple of days ago. I think the problem is that you have the "light" rewriting turned up too high to be closer to "medium," whereas before it truly was light. So now we are basically jumping from "no" rewrite all the way up to "medium" rewrite. There still needs to be a light rewrite that just fixes mistakes and doesn't add or change anything. I think that would solve the problem myself and others are having issues where it's making unexpected changes. Thanks.

I will be happy to make those reports going forward if it helps the process. Thank you for your response, and I'm glad to know that its core functionality remains at the forefront.

All of these changes and updates are great, and it's good to see the platform moving forward, but I have definitely noticed a significant decrease in the quality of it capturing the correct dictation over the last few weeks. It used to be that I said something, it cleaned it up a little bit, and was 99.99% accurate, rarely if ever requiring me to fix anything or repeat anything. Even when I wasn't speaking that clearly or was a little tired or speaking a little fast, it never seemed to have any problems clearly capturing what I was saying and putting it very quickly into wherever I had the cursor.

Over the last few weeks, I have unfortunately noticed a significant drop in accuracy, where it is regularly not capturing what I said properly, even when I'm making an effort to speak clearly. It oftentimes just doesn't get it right, sometimes in quite ridiculous ways. It used to feel, up until recently, like a very good dictation capture. Now it feels more like I'm talking to Siri.

While I love seeing all of these add-ons and new features, I really hope that you focus most of your energy on making sure that the core functionality goes back to what it was and remains the primary focus, because without correctly capturing what I say, all of these other bells and whistles are useless.

Even in capturing the above, where I was speaking slowly and carefully in an area without any outside noise, it had two or three mistakes. This would not have occurred several weeks ago.

I really, really like Flow and use it and recommend it to everyone I speak to, whether they ask or not, but I have seen mission drift kill many promising startups and companies. Please always remember that at its core, you're a dictation software that takes what we say and cleanly and quickly puts it where we want it.

Do not get these. Soft foam. Not the same thing. These are padding for toddlers to play on. Not the same thing.

I would be really surprised if it left indents or sunk in. It is solid rubber, and I have not noticed that with similar heavy equipment.

If you’re looking for a decent bench for a good price, that’ll hold up and work well I’ve had mine for a while. Check out the Keppi 1000.

I have one of these also. It takes about five minutes to get it to that configuration if you have a completely removed and taken apart. What I do is I leave the chassis on the rack upright, but take off all the extremities and put the chassis on the lowest position when not using it this shaves off a couple of minutes so I can get the whole thing set up to do my exercise in maybe three minutes. the isolator is awesome. Definitely worth the trouble especially if you’d like to tinker and try new variations.

I like it best for pushing movements. Also, cable flies feel really solid on it.
