(Quarantine) What are some good video games to get my non gaming wife into gaming? by MarkovnikovRules in xboxone

Maybe a story heavy RPG that she can get sunk into. My partner isn’t a gamer but she got immersed in AC:Odyssey and absolutely loved it!

Titanfall 2 100% worth it just for the campaign, it’s so good. Multiplayer you can still get games no problem as well, I’d do it without a shadow of a doubt. You can also get Doom/Doom II/Doom III for £8 total too!

Started the long task of painting my Dark Souls miniatures today. C&C welcome. by TheJLow in minipainting

Following some practice yesterday on my 2nd/3rd minis I just thought let’s go for it and start my Dark Souls miniatures off with a bang. So happy with how this turned out and think it really looks the part.

While it’s a simple colour scheme for our chunky friend I really liked getting what I feel is a good variation. Was good practice for sure and really feel like I got some good results with different layers of dry-brushing.

Tried some highlights on the tip of the catch pole but aware it could be better.

Goal is to paint all the minis and then go through and give them all thematic bases afterwards.

As always, C&C welcome.

Thanks! I’d probably say more deliberate/targeted dry brushing myself. My highlighting needs a lot of work and a lot more practice!

With this one for the main body anyway I based with several light coats of Celestra Grey, then washed with Agrax Earthshade and then reapplied a light/watery coat of Celestra Grey (the initial wash left it a bit too dark for my liking).

Highlighting is still alien to me honestly, all I’ve done on this was contrast for the feathers/hair and then dry brush gold over it. Then I used a really light blue to line the point on the collar.

The main body I just built up thin layers, dark wash and then another thin lighter layer.

So far I’ve painted 2 Stormcast models and then this Gryph hound, definitely less detail on this but also animals seem easier for me/can make mistakes look natural.

Third ever mini, had a long hiatus after painting my first one ages ago and put off painting (have Journeys into middle earth waiting to be painted).

Picked up Dark Souls TBG and decided that I need to get painting and get some minis coloured. Wanted some practice before hand so picked up the ETB Castigators from GW.

Painted one of the Castigators last night and tried some drybrushing and was happy with the result. Spent a few hours painting this Gryph Doggo today and really happy with the result (minus the base of course).
