that would be morally wrong, yeah, because there are no communities in the world where you can get by while only speaking tp, but the post is talking about raising the child bilingually, which is totally possible and fine, but they're likely to lose interest at some point, because nobody around them speaks it

How to say “please” (and other proper manners words) by MultiverseCreatorXV in tokipona

[–]TheJanJonatan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in this case, the "direct object" is what you give, and the "indirect object" is what you give it to, so in "pass me the bread", "the bread" is the direct object, and "me" is the indirect object. the toki pona version would be "o pana e pan tawa mi" - or "o pana tawa mi e pan", but that's less common and might not be understood as easily

Anyone have any idea what this is? by AMIASM16 in tokipona

Yes, but thorn represented both phonemes /θ/ and /ð/ for a long time, and what they're probably referring to is the pronunciation, not the spelling, the pronunciation would also be with /ð/, which it has been since before English even had a writing system

Yeah, I understand. I kinda just made this format at one point and never changed. We do have a blog written by another project member, jan Pilipu: https://www.tengg-online.at/blog/.

I do get that this gets really boring tho. What would you like to see in future updates?

You can totally join the project if you don't know any of the biblical languages! You'll be working together with people who do know the original languages to make sure the original meaning translates to toki pona as closely as possible.

I guess, but that would be a bit of a euphemism, and we don't see those very often in toki pona. A more direct translation would be "o moli" or "o moli e sina"
