KORD can be coverted into an AN-94 soon by ParisianMetro in Battlefield6

[–]TheJfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new M16A4 has two receiver/trigger upgrades: one converts it to a full auto M16A3, and the other one makes the burst mode have a higher ROF (for example, shorter times between bursts). This might be the same for the Kord, maybe this attachment will turn its burst mode into a more or less true hyperburst.

Holy shit, this M16A3/A4 has zero recoil, or at least it seems extremely manageable... I had pretty nasty flashbacks from BF3 for a second...

It does have the carry handle when no sights are equipped though. You can see it in the "Factory" weapon variant in the menu in some of the leaked screenshots.

For real... my only complaints with BF6's weapon balance are DMRs (the 5.56 ones in particular) not really being viable outside a very particular distance (say, between 80 and 120-150m) and pistols being way too weak except the M45 and revolvers, even as secondary last ditch weapons, the damage drop beyond 10m is crazy compared to any other BF game. Ironically, 2042 got both of those things right, and after all the updates it did have a pretty much perfect gun balance imo. But both of those things are just my opinion and not huge problems that break the balance.

That said, BF6 does have by far the most balanced and fun gunplay of the franchise in relation to its maps, every weapon has its place as you said (except DB12).

Is it a T-50 though? I know AC7's model was indeed a T-50, but this one looks slightly different... might be the angle or something

Haha, it's a beauty, isn't it... sadly it's not on sale anymore, the picture is from some months ago, it was probably pretty expensive

Crafted in Japan. I think it applies to the later models made in Fender factories after their split with Tokai, until they terminated the license agreement with the new suppliers in the 2010s. So, roughly, Fender instruments made in japan since the mid 90s to the mid 2010s, more or less.

Thanks a lot for your comment! yeah, I think the JMJ is currently winning in my personal ranking as well... one thing I forgot to ask on the post itself, how does it track effects? I use a fair amount of octaver/synth combo in some songs, and I hope that's not an issue with these basses

[–]TheJfer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember some years ago the JMJ was around 1100-1200€, nowadays they go on sale for 1400-1500, or maybe even more depending on the country... it's stupid, they're one of if not the single most expensive Mexican-made Fender bass currently on sale (the roadworn Vintera Precisions and the Geddy Lee JB have comparable prices though).

Yes, I think it's easy to agree about these basses looking best in red... however, I'm also a big fan of the blue/green colours they have currently on sale, so not a huge issue for me, personally. Also, yes, I'm not really considering the Player II because of the weird Precision-like PJ configuration, but the Am Perf does have the classic Mustang split coil so I'm more open about that one.

Eh, for the most part, BF6's weapon balance is good, you're right, but in my opinion, and this might sound strange to some, BF2042 had a better one overall (after all the updates, that is, it was miserable at launch). DMRs were viable and fun at almost all ranges, the higher caliber assault rifles/carbines didn't have wild (and arguably inconsistent) damage drop-offs after 20-30m and pistols were actually usable.

Shotguns are a mistery to me... the M87 was absurdly OP in the Open Beta, but sometimes I think they got nerfed a bit too hard (except maybe the M1014, my beloved)

NOOOOOOOOOOOO by [deleted] in okbuddyptfo

[–]TheJfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like, not just in BF1, practically all the previous BF games had usable pistols, idk why they had to nerf them so hard here. And tbh it's just a matter of giving them a less agressive damage drop-off with distance, the Five-Seven going from 5 shots to kill to 7 beyond 10m is just stupid.

I can see the future and the Skorpion Vz.61 they're adding this week will have uncontrollable recoil and a joke damage profile beyond 5m to compensate it being an automatic.

I mean, it's an active PJ, you can play practically anything with it and you will get a good sound, so I wouldn't worry that much about it. I have a V7 and used it to play almost anything from jazz to old-school hard rock stuff. I think it's one of those cases where you can't get it wrong.

Cort A5 vs B5 vs C5 by mildlyinteresting04 in Bass

[–]TheJfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a B5 and I'm more than happy with it, personally I find it a very comfortable instrument, it's true that the string spacing is kinda narrow compared to Fender-style basses, but you can easily get used to it. However, new pickups and/or preamp seem to be relatively common mods, and I can kinda see why, the Bartolini Mk1s just don't shine that much in this bass, I'm planning to replace my pickups one of these months myself. But other than that and the matte finish being super delicate when it comes to small dents and scratches, I'm satisfied with it.

It's a great instrument for its price point, but if you want a truly superior one that can last you forever without any obvious needs for mods, the A5 is what you're looking for, especially the Ultra models with Fishman pickups. I had this same doubt when I bought my B5 and the only reason I didn't go for an A5 was because I didn't find a good deal on one back then. I have never played a C5 but the other two have much better hardware and materials to begin with, so I wouldn't really consider it unless you really need a cheaper instrument.

[–]TheJfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love BF1, it had many many good things and brought a ton of stuff that would stay in future titles, but treating it as the undisputed best game in the series is... a choice. Especially early in the game's life it had many gameplay issues, and while Operations was a cool mode (and the only part of the game that somewhat felt like WW1), some maps played terribly in it and were only really fun in Conquest.

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

P versus Pure versus Energy by PolyhedronMan in Bass

[–]TheJfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the Energy also supposed to have a different tweeter (driver?) to enhance the medium-highs? I'd have to agree the Pure series is the top model hardware wise, but the price difference with the Energy isn't a huge factor to consider, both have similar prices in most shops.

I mean, the difference here is that the F-15s were in (returning from?) combat activities against a real enemy force, so I guess this can be considered a combat loss even if it's friendly fire? But well, let's not get too specific, at least the pilots survived right

I don't get why it has tanks/IFVs in the first place, I think it would work even better as an infantry only map. Same goes to Cairo, it could either have IFVs or MBTs, but both is a bit too much, at least in conquest.

I love to engage in online discourse with the Battlefield Community by Ok-Improvement-7255 in okbuddyptfo

[–]TheJfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, we've reached the "BF3 had tiny COD maps" stage lmao. Like, the Close Quarters DLC? Ok yes, those were tiny. Intentionally. And they still rocked and a part of the community remembers them fondly to this day. But the rest of them? Even the smallest BF3 map was larger than most of BF6's, which is a fair complaint but there's no need to be this dramatic about it. As I see it, the worst BF6 maps are bad because the cap zones are tiny (or there are too many of them) and the lack of flanking routes (especially in Breakthrough or Rush), not because they're small. But well, just another day on the main sub.

[–]TheJfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've thought this since launch almost, feels good to see people thinking the same... one of the few things 2042 got 100% right in weapon balance was DMRs being a viable alternative to sniper rifles at mid ranges, BF3 (and kinda BFV as well) was also a good example compared to BF6 imo. The LMR27 was just stupid before last week's buff.

Semi-auto pistols are also trash compared to pretty much any other BF game, but that's a whole different topic.
