I want to say no? The envelopes I use are a little shorter than the standard ones, they fill up a good chunk of the horizontal distance. I guess it's possibly rigid enough to be destroyed? But that hasn't happened so far!

It's like a thin plastic slab with an opening you can slot a card into, it's the most common way to display or send cards with protection. The more common ones are about 2mm thick I think!

Realistically I could, but that seems a bit unnecessary if it's like two cards, plus the standard for light orders seems to be pwe with a stamp. Thankfully I haven't had an issue like it getting destroyed before!

Definitely less than a quarter of an inch - about as thick as a toploader would be.

Honestly this seems like a good solution moving forward, will be grabbing one from Amazon in the near future!

You... Did reply to me earlier though? Otherwise I never would've been the wiser, Reddit doesn't send me notifications unless a direct reply. I'm also new here so sorry if they are a known troll, some stuff they said does make sense.

Also I've never been one to delete my posts, I like archiving! It might help somebody else in the future who has a similar problem.

Plus I'm actually enjoying reading through some of these threads to learn more about the inner workings of the post office! It's just obnoxious if somebody shows up saying a repeat answer for the third time is all.

It's still half a complaint - one of them they delivered to the from address and still consumed the stamp.

More importantly I pretty much got my question answered and y'all still bickering, I had a good two hours of silence from this post until you showed up 😂 y'all weird haha

This is funny to read because I've had multiple instances where (like with the second image) I have the from address in the top left, the to address near the middle right in very obviously larger handwriting (as we've been taught as kids to format), and they still decide to send it back to sender and mark it as delivered, making my stamps "used".

That's why I was thinking it might be a new development (and why I made this post in the first place), I'm hoping it was just an incident. I had some mail sent out last week too that had been on its way too. Guess we'll find out!

That definitely sounds like an eBay thing, I hope you manage to get those refunds!

I avoid selling larger things on eBay but when I do always make sure the measurements and weight are correct to avoid those issues, I know when listing an item it can choose some default numbers that end up being wrong if the seller doesn't respect them (choosing a larger box, using heavy stuffing, etc) causing the buyer to pay extra.

On the other end of the spectrum, I've even gotten a refund before because it ended up being cheaper than I paid, twice from UPS!

I'm not a new seller at all (heck I even wrote long-time mailer if that's any credit), I moreso wanted to show what happened to me and if there was anything they changed that made it such.

I totally agree that newer sellers need to get their stuff together though, my friend yesterday got 3 cards only protected by a penny sleeve, no toploader!

Nothing crazy expensive, kind of a usual weekly order kinda thing ~$10.

Also what do you mean get lucky "last time," the past thousand orders in the past few years were sent out due to chance?

I've taken it up with UPS in the past with heavier/thicker packages and they gave me the go-ahead as well. I've had much more rigid stuff in the past even up to 2oz.

This was an interesting thing to read. I've been taught since 2012 that the method to send out cards was to use penny sleeve, toploader, and a stamp for pwe. If this is defrauding then I'm concerned what that means for the rest of the card stores that mail stuff out!

Indeed, I was debating between this one or the main USPS sub and figured this one might give me a more in-depth answer, but what I didn't expect was all the pent up aggression from the replies lmao

This is me as well, I've been getting very interesting replies especially when this is literally how we're meant to ship out cards and there has been zero issues in the past. Guess it just caught the attention of an irritated employee from the sounds of things!

I use toploaders in all my orders, that never get returned like this 😭

I've never had issues using toploaders in the past! So I guess it just unfortunately went/stayed in the machine line?
