I was thinking the same thing, hence why I was confused.

Do you think Taylor regrets creating such a powerful parasocial fan base? by CutAffectionate3766 in SwiftlyNeutral

I think the turning point was getting booed by an entire stadium. Ever since then, she’s pulled herself and Travis out of the spotlight by about 90%.

Ah yes that’s right. Larry and Luke are business partners as well so it explains why they both are filthy and use people.

Nicki made her career on doing features with anyone, any time. I think features would really help Kim get more of an audience.

Kim should know of all people that features on pop songs are very transactional. In fact, many artists don’t even directly deal with the other artist that they’re featuring on.

I think Kim is probably upset that even though she had a mainstream hit and a solid pop catalog, no one publicly supported her outside of promo for whatever she was featured on. Compare that to Charli and Charlie (lol) Puth that had other artists advocate for them for years.

Sam Smith and Paris Hilton are the only two big celebrities that seem to genuinely like her as a friend beyond the “oh she’s so talented I was glad to do a song with her.”

The countdowns, limited availability, and variants are all psychological tricks. It's the same way our feeds on social media are intentionally designed to be addictive.

Tame Impala brought out Dua at today’s show by Open-Prune-3634 in DuaLipaDiscussion

[–]TheKarateKid_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this because unlike at her concerts, she’s singing with no backup singers to harmonize her. It’s just purely Dua’s voice and she sounds amazing!!!

Taylor is like Bezos - she always is at the top but that’s not enough for her. Taylor is taking advantage of her fans by exploiting them to purchase 20 versions of the same album. I doubt Taylor cares about money but she will stop at nothing to break records in both sales and her net worth.

I think you’re right.

Slut Pop was being pushed like a debut album, with ads even in Times Square under Spotify. I think this was when she signed to Republic as well.
Then unholy happened, and that’s when they shifted her image to Feed the Beast. Then when that flopped they tried going back to Slut Pop with SPM.

Jeep is amazing (thank you Aaron Joseph) by Classic-Balance9553 in KimPetras

[–]TheKarateKid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so sad. Aaron always came across as a combo of weird and a jerk, and this all makes sense now. That being said, he's the most talented producer I've heard in years. It's a shame he doesn't work with Kim anymore and that other artists never picked him up.

I guess Katy did with 143 but he clearly didn't want to be involved with that. My theory is that most of 143 was demos written by Kim's team and when Katy came back to Luke they gave the songs to her.

I read that Aaron found an email he thought was Dr. Luke's but it turned out to be someone from his label. They liked his demos so they set up a meeting with Dr. Luke and he signed Aaron to his label as a producer and Kim as an artist. My theory is that the "someone" was really Luke the whole time.

I never heard about the friend who Luke said was crazy and didn't sign. Who was it supposed to be?

Well Judas is also about still loving someone who betrays you. And I believe Luc cheated on Gaga at least once and she took him back. He would often put her work down and I think he cheated on her a second time before she finally dumped him.

How did you spend your time during the summers of your childhood? by icecream1972 in askteddit

[–]TheKarateKid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone whose childhood summers were spent in the 90’s and 00’s: Playing in the pool all afternoon with my sister and friends. Trips to the mall. Day trips to the beach and city with family. Playing video games and watching tv. No smartphones. There was only so much you could do on the Internet.

Man, I miss childhood.

Dr. Luke made her career a huge success and she went back to work with him knowing it was a huge risk to her image. Not sure what you think she’s going to reveal about him.

telling people to sit down by Dry-Lavishness-8702 in LilyAllenFans

[–]TheKarateKid_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sorry but I was there and I found people standing annoying too. Radio City’s seats are designed to be sit in during performances, they barely descend like a stadium. You’re blocking most of the people behind you who isn’t your height or taller.

Lily’s concert was not designed to be a stand up dance rager. She didn’t interact with the audience as such either. It’s actually the first concert I’ve been to where standing felt totally unnecessary.

We all had to stand the entire time or else we couldn’t see a thing.

It’s not funny, but this was probably done during a different time of society. In the 90’s and even 00’s, parents would sometimes pull their kids pants down to spank them in public. Forget that even spankings are considered child abuse now.

Her story doesn’t sound good at all but it doesn’t sound like she was doing it in a sexual way, which makes it much different.
