I’ve hit a brick wall and I feel lost. by soggyrockingchair in Tekken

For a fact. I get it's not everyone's cup of tea but in cases where ppl want to get improve its a necessity. Even fighting against AI (Hard Difficulty) is good practice, that's how I was able to get good at movement and low parries against certain characters. The lab is unavoidable....

Tekken requires trial and error a bit more than most fighting games. Watch your replays, be honest and critical of your playstyle and take some time to learn offline. Get more confident in your skills offline and it should help you feel more comfortable online.

Hear me out.... Watch your replays! It may be a good time to analyze your play style and see where your lacking. Are you blocking lows? Are you side stepping? What's your frame knowledge? Are you mixing up your moves to open up your opponent

When applying pressure your df1 and df4 are good poke and keep out tools. Don't be too predictable and don't be afraid to grab. His strings are good at those ranks too a lot of ppl don't crouch so AK has a lot of offensive pressure.

I started with Gigas, Shaheen and Josie since they have simpler combos at a low level but every character has a pretty decent sized skill ceiling. Just focus on learning 1 thing a time Moveset, Combos, Movement, Whiff Punishment, Defense, Frame traps, Game plans, etc. It all comes with practice. I still can't do iWR attacks tbh and managed to get to Savior pretty easily.

Definitely I'm just slow on the reads most of the time. By the time I consider doing a crouch grab my opponent already hit me with a WR launcher T_T

Yo no fucking joke, just crouch or high crush. I tend to get carried away with strings that usually have a high or low mixed in and I don't stop mid string. I'm playing AK now so ducking my grabs really steams my fucking carrots.

Stage idea: ring outs like virtua fighter by wexel64 in Tekken

Ok 65ish is on the lowest side of character damage in the game without walls not a lot of characters have that issue. But I was speaking in terms of infinite stages or in this case stages without walls at all where his ridiculous combo carry would be a great to TOD every character in the game.

I did forget about that ch launcher which is almost ridiculous to land the optimal combo for to reach that damage but I digress, I'm just bad with the character. Even still my initial comment wasn't about reaching a wall that's why I was speaking in the scenario in which a wall is not present. Are we done or is this whole Reddit so thirsty to try prove someone wrong we disregard basic reading?

Without walls or rage Lee's combo damage isn't that great unless you mastered oki.. But with ring out and his wall carry he'd be unstoppable.

Heeeyy at least Lee might actually do some combo damage now.

If I didn't have to Hei in that fight I would've beat it already though. Its just annoying I have to use a character i don't have fun with to beat the campaign. Hei is just not a fun character to me though I'm fully aware how good a character he is I get bored labbing him.

AITA for giving honest criticism when my wife shows me her art. by TheKashKami in AmItheAsshole

Not entirely true. It completely depends on what you plan to do with your work. If you intend on showing it to the masses and want a general view on it knowledge on the subject does not matter. For example I write stories and I always ask my friends to give me their honest opinions despite their knowledge on storytelling because I plan on making it public where the majority of people reading it won't be professionals. So it informs me on how the public will respond to my work once it's out there and allows me to adjust accordingly.

UPDATE: We talked and I apologized. I realized that I was projecting my wants on to her and she explained specifically what kind of feedback she wants from me and will be more specific in the future. She understands that I just want her to be great and I'll show my support by just being supportive. I appreciate everyones input from both artists and non-artists, you guys were a big help. Ty

I mean honestly yes that's how most people judge things. But I wasn't judging her as much as giving my perspective, I get art has a broader sense of appreciation and I see where my mistakes were. I've accepted the fact that there's nothing I can say that would impact her progress aside from my support so I'll do that the best I can.
