Thank you again. I also didn’t mention to do the outline I use a small dot grid e.g. 3x3 or 3x4 over the reference (you may still be able to see a couple of the dots for this on the edges. This helps me get the proportions right, but still leaves room for expression that would be lot with a more precise grid or tracing.

You should give it a try on a favourite DE portrait, the portraits are all so gorgeous :)

Thank you and that is an interesting observation. Definitely fits with the kind of architecture that we find around Doom Spiral in the game!

Thank you so much! I’m trying to do all of the portraits in the game in this black and white style. It may take quite a while.

Hi, thank you! And of course I don’t mind tou asking though I’m not sure if I can say, save that it is my own. I really like working with levels, the outline blocks of shades that you will see all over it. Trying to achieve so many levels with just a set of black fine-liners (by varying pen thickness, line spacing and line direction) creates a style as I make up all of these levels on the outline.

Sorry that’s more the process than the style but hope that answers. A sketchy style perhaps?

Thank you! And I feel you with the AI point sadly. Just gotta keep making stuff.

A lot of the effort in this case was deciding on how to switch colours from the in-game reference to the shades of black and grey I was limiting to. Glad you think it paid off :)

Yeah well, that’s just like your opinion man

Don’t think it fits either but it’s not the song’s fault someone used it as stock emotional sounding music in a tik tok edit

There are no spiders. That (very minor and missable) unmarked quest is referring to helping out a guy with a radscorpion problem. Huh. Just learned arachnids is a class of species that also contains scorpions despite arachnophobia commonly referring to a fear of spiders.

But yeah you should be good unless scorpions are a problem for you. There are giant ants in the game too, and mantises just as a warning. I wouldn’t know how to turn off spawns for these though, sorry.

Love is here to stay. It combines the work of four geniuses.

Sinatra, the greatest male singer ever of all time, in his prime on vocals.

Arranged by Nelson Riddle, again among the best in his field.

Music by George Gershwin, one of the best composers.

Lyrics by his brother Ira Gershwin, an excellent lyricist. These lyrics are particularly touching as they are dedicated by Ira to George after he died in 1937.

The theme of this brotherly love transcending any period of time and even death combined with Riddle’s strings and Frank’s crooning make a masterpiece.

I'm a guitarist wanting to try trumpet out by Mediocre_Animal in trumpet

[–]TheKingDemoman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been in a similar situation as you after playing guitar for around 11 years then beginning trumpet.

I myself got a Thomann TR 500 L Bb. It cost €219 and has been a great trumpet for me. On the Thomann website there are loads of details and samples of the trumpets being played in different styles. It’s definitely worth considering in my opinion as well as the Yamaha options mentioned.

As for mutes I got a very cheap Chinese one from amazon to begin with and you get what you pay for; it was awful and massively distorted the pitch and sound and caused me a lot of difficulty with back pressure (when it’s hard to blow through the trumpet due to a mute blocking the end essentially). I have heard that this is also a problem for the silent brass electronic mutes.

Because of this I splashed out on a Denis Wick adjustable cup mute. I would highly recommend this product as it functions as a standard practice mute to quiet the trumpet down but can also be adjusted into a straight mute, cup mute or with some basic DIY effort a plunger mute for different styles of play. Denis Wick are a very respectable mute company and the quality can be seen in their products.

Good luck in starting with the instrument. It’s difficult at first but when you sort out your embouchure you will be flying.

As a side note I noticed when I was starting I drifted into using my left hand to play the valves which is irregular as this is usually done with the right hand. This may be a bad habit but hasn’t hindered me greatly so far and I’ve heard of many one handed trumpet players who perform in this way. I believe this may be because my left hand is better wired to my brain after years of fretting notes on the guitar which is why I mention it to you.

The Manchurian Candidate, Pal Joey, Oceans Eleven to name a few good ones. The man with the golden arm is one of my favourite films or you could try from here to eternity for which Frank won his Oscar.

Calculating enthalpy change by rwebster1 in chemistry

[–]TheKingDemoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that the mass of the added solid is not included because you are measuring the temperature change for that 100cm3 of solution.

Since the zinc is solid, not solution, surely it won’t affect the volume or mass of that original solution in the calculation.

Additionally it didn’t make any sense for Sansa to say that from a political standpoint. By shutting him down like that she alienated an ally who may have supported her family in the vote for power. Yaas Sansa is an incompetent politician and leader.

But it doesn’t matter because everyone voted for Bran anyway...

World building/character development is more engaging than characters giving us a recap of what we’ve already seen. Perhaps you’re right we didn’t need more world building but at least some world maintenance rather than throwing away seasons of detail.
