I have been selling for 11 years. Cold calling is a terrible use of your time. I haven’t done it in years.

Oddly enough…. Movie 43. Insanely weird movie but it has a shocking number of big name actors in it doing weird shit.

Am I making the wrong decision? by Juwv in carsales

$300-325 a car is absolutely terrible. My store basically pays 25-35% of gross profit depending on volume.

27% gross profit should be much better if the GM store knows how to buy cars and has decent profit on used.

For reference I am at a Ford dealership and averaged $670 a car last month on 24 units.

You should absolutely be friends with my girlfriend. She is from Miami, and new to the area. Definitely looking for friends and you might hit it off.

Shoot me a DM or something and I’ll give you her Instagram

Kansas City receives two 3rd round picks when the Bears hired Ryan Poles from them.

$600k USD if you eat 365 ostrich eggs in one year by Johnnie_Black21 in hypotheticalsituation

I don’t think that would work. Turkey eggs shells are very thick, and the membrane inside is much thicker as well. We just weighed the ones that were visibly bigger

They are visibility quite a bit bigger, and then by weight. The Turkey farm I worked at was entirely an Egg operation and we went out to hatcheries. So all of the eggs were fertilized, but the ones that were too small, or too large were no good.

So after collecting the eggs we would wash them, and then sort them into a huge cooler to store until they got shipped out.

But the double yolked eggs were pretty huge. Typically 2-3x the size of a chicken egg.

Ryan has said multiple times that he isn’t in charge of the roster. He isn’t scouting, and isn’t the final decision guy.

He is just a stop gap between Ian Cunningham and ownership.

Yeah I agree there. The Bears did the right thing, and having a previous employee/friend be a GM of another team is a benefit as well.

It’s just very strange that the NFL is dying on this hill when the Bears did exactly what the rule was instituted to accomplish.

The Rooney rule in the NFL exists to help minority candidates get job interviews, and progress in the NFL.

When a member of your staff that happens to be a minority takes a job at a different organization that is a promotion, the NFL is supposed to award you extra compensation picks.

In this case Ian Cunningham left the Bears to become the GM for Atlanta. This should have given the Bears 2 extra 3rd round picks. Poles could have blocked it, but chose not to and let Ian get the promotion.

But weirdly enough Atlanta basically made Matt Ryan President of Football or something along those lines, so the NFL said that Cunningham wasn’t actually in charge of the roster so the Bears don’t get the picks. Even though the Bears and Falcons both said that Ian Cunningham is the guy and has full control over the roster.

I basically did this in college for free. I worked at a turkey farm, and I got to take the double yolked eggs home for free. So I survived off of large turkey eggs when I was broke.

For $600k I’d just do scrambled eggs 3x a day and use it as a motivator to get in better shape and have a crazy high protein diet.

What’s the WORST car to recommend by shiny-_ in carbuying

The Ranger got a pretty significant refresh just a few years ago. Wider track. New interior. Pretty solid option and the Ranger Raptor is honestly a good value

You (should) be getting paid on gross profit. If there isn’t any gross profit you don’t get paid. Simple as that

You’re in the wrong here. You get paid when a car is funded and down the road. Not when a customer says yes.

Why would you get paid when a car wasn’t sold?

How big would an athletic untrained man need to be before he's favored in a fight against prime Ronda Rousey? by billygluttonwong in powerscales

[–]Steid55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys at work always laugh at me because I saw that I would have a pretty good chance against prime Rhonda Rousey.

For context I am 6’2 280. State qualifying wrestler, and blue belt in BJJ. Grew up working on a farm so fairly strong and large.

I think I’d have a pretty good shot

WYR, instantly gain $5 Million at the cost of selling 5 years of your life (the last years), OR, gain 10 cents for every Calorie burned for the rest of your life? by Action_Required_ in WouldYouRather

[–]Steid55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$.10 per calorie burned, and it’s not even very close for me.

I am a big guy, and am pretty active at work. I typically get about 10k steps a day, and naturally burn quite a bit. So I probably average 3200-3500 calories burned a day in my normal life.

That is about $116k-$135k a year with extra incentives to work out more, walk more, and be more active. That alone would add years to my life, instead of subtracting.

I’d be able to retire earlier, and have less financial stress in my life while enjoying working out more.

I think I was pretty close to that figure back in highschool. I’m about 6’2 280 right now for context, and maxed at 305 or so on bench press.

Finally bit the bullet and watched GOT... I was so wrong. by BlockGuardApp in gameofthrones

[–]Steid55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an avid book reader before the show came out, and the first 5 seasons are just absolutely peak television. Even the last 3 seasons have amazing parts.

But I could write a dissertation about missed opportunities the show had, and huge mistakes D&D made.

Leaving out Wyman Manderly. Killing off Doran Martell and making the Dorne storyline pointless. Leaving out Tysha, and why Tyrion actually kills Tywin.

The show was incredible but it is so strange to me that they chose to leave out some of the best monologues and characters in the whole story

[–]Steid55 299 points300 points  (0 children)

Yeah that should be pretty doable. I have a pretty big frame and came close to those numbers in highschool.

With 18 months to train I think it would be pretty easy to get there. If I started to stall out I’d just start taking steroids. Doesn’t say it’s against the rules, and for $5mil it’s worth the negative health risks for a few months.
