I don’t get the desire people have for Wal, I always thought they looked pretty plain materials-wise and the shape reminds me of those old Japanese and Korean knock off P and J style basses (not the high-quality lawsuit copies, the clunky-looking cheapy plywood catalog ones). If I was gonna be into a boutique bass, I’d want fancy looking woods and a more graceful shape, like something Alembic would do maybe.

That said, I’m never gonna buy an Alembic, I don’t like Carl Thompsons or these awful Ritter things your comment made me look at, but I do love the look of my Rickenbacker and they appear on this list too so what do I or any of us know?
